Gibson 1959 Les Paul Standard Faded Peach Burst Heavy Aged

For decades, the 1959 Les Paul Standard has been regarded as one of the leading solidbody guitars ever built. This Limited Edition 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue Heavy Aged Faded Peach Burst combines the character of those legendary instruments with the expertise of the Gibson Custom Shop in Nashville. Built in a limited run as part of the Limited Edition Collection, this model is the result of decades of experience with Made to Measure instruments. Particularly noteworthy is the hand-selected AAA figured maple top, chosen by the Made to Measure team for the distinctive grain and character of the wood.

Beneath the maple top lies a lightweight, solid mahogany body without weight relief, a construction that ensures a resonant response, long sustain, and the powerful dynamics so characteristic of the best Les Paul Standards from the late fifties. The mahogany neck features the characteristic Authentic 1959 profile and is attached to the body with a long neck tenon. The rosewood fingerboard features a 12-inch radius, medium jumbo frets, single-ply binding, and cellulose trapezoid inlays. The Heavy Aged nitrocellulose lacquer was applied by hand and subsequently aged by the Murphy Lab, featuring lacquer cracks, subtly rounded edges, and a played-in feel strongly reminiscent of a beloved original from the Golden Era.

The electronics and hardware are also fully tuned to the character of a late 1950s example. Two Custombucker Alnico 4 humbuckers with Double Classic White bobbins and aged nickel covers deliver a rich, dynamic sound with great harmonic complexity and a natural response. The combination of two volume and two tone controls with a three-way switch offers a wide range from clear cleans to powerful overdrive, while retaining the typical vintage response. The ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and Stop Bar are finished in aged nickel and are complemented by Kluson Deluxe tuners, cream plastic parts, and gold Top Hat knobs. The guitar comes with a Lifton reissue hardshell case and Certificate of Authenticity, making this Limited Edition a particularly complete realization of Gibson Custom's vision of the legendary 1959 Les Paul Standard.
