Gibson A4 Mandolin 1924

Vintage Gibson mandolins have a large following of enthusiasts, consisting of both collectors and players. Upon seeing and hearing this A4 from 1924, you immediately understand why, because this beautiful instrument sounds fantastic!

In terms of looks, this Gibson naturally scores points with its beautiful dark Sunburst finish on the spruce top, which is adorned with a beautiful Rope rosette and ivoroid binding. Alongside The Gibson logo, a fine Fleur-de-Lis inlay adorns the headstock.

But beautiful looks alone are not enough, because naturally, you want such a vintage Gibson for its sound as well. This A-style mandolin with an oval soundhole has a beautiful warm sound with a dry and woody character, and a beautiful resonant sustain with singing overtones.

The mandolin is in fascinatingly beautiful condition for an instrument over a century old. A refret was performed at some point, and the finish on the back of the neck has been touched up. Furthermore, the mandolin has its original tuning machines, bridge with patent number, tailpiece, and pickguard. A beautiful mandolin to own and to play!
