Kauffmann 63 JM Paulownia Sage Green Light Aged

This Kauffmann 63 JM brings together a Sage Green finish, a light paulownia body and a pair of Lollar JM pickups, for an offset guitar that sounds big and stays easy to play for hours. A maple neck with an East Indian rosewood fingerboard and Kauffmann's light aging give it a relaxed, played in character from day one.

Kauffmann Guitars builds its instruments in Alphen aan den Rijn in the Netherlands, with a simple motto: it's all about feel. As the name suggests, the 63 JM takes its cue from the offset guitars of the early sixties, a design that later found a second life in surf, indie and alternative music. Every Kauffmann goes through what the brand calls the Time Travel Treatment, an aging process that comes in different levels. This one received the Light treatment, which gives it the subtle character of a well loved guitar without heavy wear.

Paulownia is a very light tonewood, which keeps this guitar comfortable on the shoulder and gives it an open, lively response. The pickups come from Jason Lollar, a well respected name among single coil fans, and their wide, flat coils give a fuller, warmer voice than a standard single coil while keeping plenty of clarity. The rosewood fingerboard adds a touch of roundness to the attack and the 9.5" radius makes chords and bends feel natural. With the Halon JM bridge and tremolo and traditional JM style wiring, the whole package stays true to the offset character. It comes with its signed Kauffmann spec sheet.
