Gibson SJ200 Standard Vintage Sunburst 2017

This 2017 Gibson SJ200 Standard in Vintage Sunburst is the big, bold flattop that earned the model its nickname, the King of the Flat Tops. Its super jumbo body, sitka spruce top and maple back and sides give it a powerful, focused voice that fills a room, and with the LR Baggs Anthem electronics on board it sounds just as natural when you plug it in.

Gibson introduced the SJ200 in the late thirties as a showpiece for cowboy stars of the day, and its size and looks made it an icon almost straight away. In the decades since, it has become a favourite of country, folk and rock players alike, from intimate songwriters to big stage performers. With its sunburst finish and unmistakable shape, this Standard model captures exactly the look and sound that made the SJ200 famous.

The maple back and sides give this guitar a clear, articulate tone with a strong projection, so every note comes through with definition, even when you strum hard. The large super jumbo body adds plenty of volume and a full low end, while the sitka spruce top keeps the sound open and dynamic. The round profile maple neck feels solid and comfortable in the hand, and the 12" radius on the rosewood fingerboard makes chords and single note lines feel equally natural. The LR Baggs Anthem system combines a pickup and a microphone, so on stage the guitar keeps its warm, acoustic character.

This 2017 SJ200 is in excellent condition. Spread across the guitar are some small scratches, mostly on the top and the pickguard, and both the top and the back show a few tiny dings. Apart from that there are only some light signs of play. It comes with a Gibson hardshell case.
