Gibson Custom Shop Keb' Mo' Signature Bluesmaster L00 Vintage Sunburst 2013

This is a Gibson Custom Shop Keb' Mo' Signature Bluesmaster L-00 from 2013, a small-bodied acoustic developed in collaboration with the Grammy-winning bluesman himself. Finished in a warm Vintage Sunburst and part of a strictly limited run of just 300 worldwide, each carrying a numbered label signed by Keb' Mo', it's a genuinely special and increasingly hard-to-find instrument.

The Bluesmaster is Gibson's tribute to the classic pre-war L-00, one of the most iconic blues guitars ever made. Built to Keb' Mo's own preferences, it pairs the intimate 12-fret L-00 body with premium Custom Shop appointments: a solid Adirondack red spruce top, solid mahogany back and sides and traditional X-bracing. The result is a fingerpicker's dream that captures the dry, woody, expressive voice of a vintage Gibson flat-top.

After 13 years this example has earned a little character, and it wears it well. There are some playing scratches on the lower part of the top, roughly where a pickguard would normally sit, along with two small paint chips on the back of the body and some light scratches here and there around the body. For a 13-year-old Custom Shop guitar it remains in lovely shape, and best of all it has really started to open up: years of playing have let the top breathe, giving it a richer, more resonant and more responsive tone than a new example.

That Adirondack top over mahogany gives the L-00 a punchy, focused sound with excellent projection and a lovely midrange bark, perfect for blues, fingerstyle and singer-songwriter work. The comfortable C-profile mahogany neck, 12-fret join and 25" scale make it a joy to play, while the fitted LR Baggs Element active pickup system with volume control means you can plug in and head straight to the stage. It comes complete with its hardshell case and TFOA Passport.

This instrument has been carefully inspected for condition and playability, then set up to our Gold Standard by a luthier. We make sure it arrives in your hands exactly as it should: sounding its best, playing effortlessly and ready to be enjoyed from the very first note.
