Experience the mighty tone and playability of this ‘46 D18. For a 1940s Martin D18, this is truly a godsend with irresistible vintage charm and legendary tone!
The D18 by Martin Guitars has left a great impression in the music world and has been an outright classic for many years. That is why it is extremely special to have one in our shop that has ensured this legendary reputation! This D18 from 1946 already has many kilometres on the clock, and is still in very good condition. This is a real bargain for the collector and aficionado!
In 1946, Sitka spruce fully replaced the Adirondack top and the braces were no longer ‘scalloped’. This example has been well maintained over the years so it still plays very nicely today. And what power comes out of this dreadnought! It doesn't need a pickup because with its mighty sound and great balance, this is every bluegrass player's dream.
To keep it in this beautiful condition, it has some repaired cracks on the body and top, a small patch on the back of the body and a newer fingerboard and bridge. In addition, the body has had an overspray, a neck reset has been done at some point and the tuning machines have been replaced. So the service booklet is already well filled, and that makes it a stable guitar that you immediately fall in love with.
Comes in a hardshell case with TFOA passport.
