With a dreadnought body, Brazilian rosewood back and sides and a Sitka spruce top, the D35 is a guitar that feels familiar!

The Martin D35 originates from 1965, when Martin replaced the two-piece back with a three-piece due to the small size of the available Brazilian rosewood parts. Equipped with this striking feature, the D35 found a place between the iconic D28 and the more decorated guitars such as the D41 and D45.

Martin's last guitar with Brazilian rosewood bears serial number '254497'. This D35 has the serial number '247799', and therefore belongs to the last series of Martin guitars that still have Brazilian rosewood! The wood looks beautiful and gives this dreadnought a full and deep sound that shows its powerful power when strumming.

This D35 was built in 1969, and is in very good condition due to a few repairs and a good polish. On the top we find two repaired cracks with a partial overspray, and also on the side of the shoulder on the treble side a small repair with partial overspray has been carried out. Furthermore, the guitar has had a refret where the fretboard has been re-flattened, and in connection with this the bridge has also been lowered somewhat.

The guitar was once equipped with a pickup, and the small hole in the rosewood bridge plate and the thicker endpin are still silent witnesses of this. Finally, it is noticeable that the pickguard curls somewhat along the edges, but this does not hinder playing. This D35 also shows its age beautifully with the weather checking and traces of use, and is without a doubt an asset to any guitar collection!
