Martin Custom Shop OM45 Madagascar Rosewood 2012

This Martin Custom OM45 is a breathtaking masterpiece of lutherie: a unique custom model featuring premium Madagascar rosewood, a spruce top, and lavish abalone ornamentation. With its intricate fretboard inlay and refined craftsmanship from Nazareth, this guitar embodies the pinnacle of Martin's acoustic instruments. It is no coincidence that the 45-series sits at the top of the Martin hierarchy, offering guitars that combine exquisite inlay work with the finest tonewoods.

At the heart of this masterpiece is an OM45 model richly adorned with abalone; this elegant inlay graces the top, back, and sides, and even extends along the heel. The abundant abalone decoration, paired with ivoroid binding and a Madagascar rosewood headstock overlay, makes this one of the most ornate guitars in Martin's lineup.

This stunning instrument is a testament to Martin's craftsmanship, featuring premium Madagascar rosewood that offers tonal qualities comparable to legendary Brazilian rosewood. The Sitka spruce top delivers a responsive, dynamic tone with a perfect balance of warmth and definition. The combination of these woods creates a complex, balanced sound characterized by sparkling highs and a powerful, well-defined bass.

The Martin Custom Shop caters to the discerning guitarist who desires complete control over every specification and aesthetic detail of the instrument. By combining the customer's vision and the builder's artistry with the finest materials, the Martin Custom Shop consistently delivers the perfect guitar. The level of detail on these instruments is superb, and the playing experience of a Custom Martin is simply irreplaceable!

Built in 2012, the guitar remains in excellent condition. There are two small dings and some superficial scratches on the back of the body, along with light signs of play on the pickguard. A minor repair has been made to the binding at the end of the neck, and a Plate Mate has been installed on the bridge plate. A magnificent guitar that would be the crown jewel of any collection!

This guitar has been carefully inspected for condition and playability, then set up to our Gold Standard by a luthier. We make sure it arrives in your hands exactly as it should: sounding its best, playing effortlessly and ready to be enjoyed from the very first note.
