PRS Silver Sky Lunar Ice 2021

This 2021 PRS Silver Sky is a limited edition, one of 1000 made, and it wears a finish you won't easily forget. Lunar Ice is a polychromatic finish that shifts from green to pink, blue and purple as the light moves across the body. Underneath that look sits everything that makes the Silver Sky so loved: a sparkling, glassy clean tone and a neck that feels familiar the moment you pick it up.

The Silver Sky came out of a close collaboration between John Mayer and Paul Reed Smith and was introduced in 2018. Instead of copying the vintage guitars they both love, they went over every detail to make a classic design sound and play even better. That approach paid off, as it quickly became one of the most talked about PRS models of recent years.

Plug it in and you hear why. The alder body and maple fingerboard give it an open, lively voice with a little extra snap, so chords ring out clearly and single notes jump out of the mix. The pickups were developed especially for this model and sound round and full, with a sweet high end that never gets harsh. You go from warm and smooth on the neck pickup to the bright, quacky in between sounds that are perfect for funk and clean blues. The neck has a vintage feel with a nicely rounded fingerboard that makes chord work feel effortless, and the guitar stays in tune well, even when you use the tremolo.

This 2021 Silver Sky is in near mint condition with hardly any signs of play. The protective film is even still on the pickguard. On the back there are a few very small dings that you will only notice in just the right light. It comes with a PRS gigbag.
