Santa Cruz consistently manufactures high-quality, limited-edition guitars with dedication in their artisan workshop and a passion for providing musicians with exceptional instruments. Artists and collectors regularly asked Santa Cruz to create a custom version of this classic design, so they finally understood the message: this is the guitarist wants!

In that spirit, Santa Cruz Guitar Company has introduced the RS model. It is much more than a tribute to the guitar virtuoso from 1937 who performed with these luxury stage instruments, specially tuned for Hawaiian playing styles. This beautiful retro model features the modifications modern guitarists requested to make vintage instruments compatible with contemporary fret styles.

The RS is designed for a convincing presence. SCGC's specially tapered bracing and body depth give the instrument significant headroom to play hard while still maintaining tone color. The neck is designed for maximum string space at the nut for very clean fingering, and the right hand also gets more space—about 59 cm—between the outer strings. The pleasant playability is enhanced by the smoothness of the 24.75-inch scale length.

Santa Cruz has employed a number of its signature guitar-building skills to manipulate the size of the soundhole, the position of the bridge plate, and the curvature of the top to create an ideal EQ for the RS: a large, embraceable companion with a very beautiful appearance!
