Stevens Archtop Spruce Flamed Maple Natural 1999

Stevens is a guitar maker from Munich that has been making exceptionally well-built instruments with great attention to detail since its founding in 1992. Stevens is known for building custom guitars like this fantastic 17” archtop.

It is immediately clear what this archtop was built for, and that is, of course, jazz! The mini-humbucker in the neck position accurately reflects the guitar's sound; the combination of a spruce top and a maple body produces a clear and dynamic tone, with a fast attack and excellent articulation. As a result, every note remains beautifully defined, and the guitar possesses the refined tone for which high-quality, hand-built archtops are so beloved.

This Stevens Archtop was built in 1999 for Sacksioni Guitars in Amsterdam, and after 27 years, the guitar is still in excellent condition. Light signs of wear and a few dings can be found on the top and side of the body, and the hardware has built up some patina over the years. Otherwise, the guitar is well-maintained and is undoubtedly a rare find for the archtop enthusiast!
