With the Gold Label 517e, Taylor has created something special: a guitar that combines the warm, traditional sound of yesteryear with modern playability. The mahogany with a torrefied spruce top and the deeper Grand Pacific body provide a powerful, earthy sound that immediately makes an impression.

Taylor introduced the Gold Label Collection in early 2025 as a radical new direction for the brand. While Taylor has long been known for its bright, modern sound, Andy Powers wanted to return to the warm, robust sounds of traditional acoustic guitars with this series. The Grand Pacific body was redesigned especially for the Gold Label with a 3/8 inch deeper sound box, resulting in more "lung capacity" and a richer resonance.

The combination of mahogany back and sides and torrefied Sitka spruce top produces a sound that is both powerful and musical. The mahogany brings warmth and focus, while the torrefied spruce provides an open, mature sound reminiscent of vintage instruments. The V-Class bracing and the unique Action Control Neck make this guitar not only a pleasure to listen to, but also to play. The neck profile fits comfortably in the hand, and thanks to the innovative neck system you can easily adjust the string spacing to your playing style.
