De Gibson SJ-200 werd voor het eerst geïntroduceerd in 1937 en kreeg al snel de bijnaam ‘King of the Flat-Tops’ vanwege zijn formaat, hoogwaardige geluid, uitzonderlijke projectie en indrukwekkende podiumprésence. Tot 1947, toen het hout dat voor de achterkant en zijkanten werd gebruikt werd vervangen door esdoorn, werd hij gemaakt van palissander. Deze zeldzame vooroorlogse modellen zijn nu erg in trek bij verzamelaars.
Gelukkig voor ons heeft Gibson Custom een getrouwe reproductie gemaakt van die legendarische vooroorlogse Super Jumbo-modellen! Net als de originelen is de Pre-War SJ-200 Rosewood Light Aged rijkelijk versierd. Denk bijvoorbeeld aan de meerlaagse purling, ‘crown’-inleg en SJ-200-slagplaat. De bekwame ambachtslieden van het Murphy Lab hebben ervoor gezorgd dat deze gitaar er ook uitziet en aanvoelt als een goed bewaard gebleven vintage exemplaar.
Met zijn jumbo-formaat body en combinatie van palissander en thermisch verouderd Adirondack kun je zeker zijn van een krachtige, grote projectie. Het is de perfecte gitaar voor flatpicking en strumming!

The Gibson SJ-200 was first introduced in 1937 and quickly earned the moniker 'King of the Flat-Tops' due to its size, high-quality sound, exceptional projection, and commanding stage presence. Up until 1947, when the wood used for the back and sides changed to maple, it was constructed using rosewood. These rare pre-war models are now in high demand among collectors.
Luckily for us, Gibson Custom has created a faithful recreation of those exalted pre-war Super Jumbo models! Like the originals, The Pre-War SJ-200 Rosewood Light Aged is highly ornate. For example the multi-ply purling, 'crown' inlay and SJ-200 pickguard. The skilled artisans of the Murphy Lab made sure this guitar also looks and feels like a well-preserved vintage example.
With its jumbo-sized body and combination of rosewood and thermally aged Adirondack, you can be sure of a bold, big projection. It's the perfect guitar for flatpicking and strumming!

Die Gibson SJ-200 wurde erstmals 1937 vorgestellt und erhielt aufgrund ihrer Größe, ihres hochwertigen Klangs, ihrer außergewöhnlichen Projektion und ihrer beeindruckenden Bühnenpräsenz schnell den Beinamen „King of the Flat-Tops”. Bis 1947, als das für den Boden und die Zargen verwendete Holz zu Ahorn wechselte, wurde sie aus Palisanderholz gefertigt. Diese seltenen Vorkriegsmodelle sind heute bei Sammlern sehr begehrt.
Zu unserem Glück hat Gibson Custom eine originalgetreue Nachbildung dieser hochgeschätzten Super-Jumbo-Modelle aus der Vorkriegszeit geschaffen! Wie die Originale ist auch die Pre-War SJ-200 Rosewood Light Aged reich verziert. Dazu gehören beispielsweise die mehrlagige Einlage, die „Kronen”-Intarsien und das SJ-200-Schlagbrett. Die erfahrenen Handwerker des Murphy Lab haben dafür gesorgt, dass diese Gitarre auch optisch und haptisch wie ein gut erhaltenes Vintage-Modell wirkt.
Mit ihrem Jumbo-Korpus und der Kombination aus Palisander und thermisch gealtertem Adirondack-Fichtendeck können Sie sich auf einen kraftvollen, voluminösen Klang verlassen. Sie ist die perfekte Gitarre für Flatpicking und Strumming!
