De Eastman E40OM combineert een prachtige palissander klankkast met een Adirondack bovenblad en fraaie abalone inleg op het bovenblad, rondom het klankgat en op de kopplaat. OM's zijn uitgesproken instrumenten, en zeer comfortabel dankzij de geringe diepte van de body. Eastman heeft een creatieve interpretatie gemaakt van deze gitaar door een mensuur van 24.9 inch te gebruiken.Â
Dankzij de massieve Adirondack sparren top die is gecombineerd met een massief Indisch Palissander body heeft dit instrument een krachtige, maar prachtig evenwichtige en ronde stem. Met zijn geweldige dynamische bereik kan het Orchestra Model alles aan van subtiel tot hard; van fingerstyle tot stevige slag. De veelzijdigheid aan mogelijke speelstijlen wordt ook bevorderd door de comfortabele bespeelbaarheid van de mahonie hals met een 'traditional even C' profiel en 12 inch ebbenhouten toets.
Eastman voorziet het bovenblad van hun 'Thermo Cured' behandeling. Dit zorgt ervoor dat het hout is blootgesteld aan hitte en druk, waardoor het een groot deel van zijn vocht al verloren heeft aan dit proces. Het resultaat is een gitaar met een ingespeeld karakter, met de klank-kwaliteiten een ouder vintage instrument.
