Historically, the "Pauls Guitar" model (like the Modern Eagle before it) is a collection of Paul Reed Smith's latest discoveries in tone. Paul spelled out exactly how he wanted every aspect of this model, from wood selection to inlays to the pickups.
This updated model embodies Paul's vision, not only as a luthier but also as a guitarist who needs a versatile instrument. In terms of configuration, Paul chose the well-known combination of mahogany for the body with a flamed maple top, Honduran rosewood fingerboard, Nitro finish, "Brushstroke" bird position markers and narrow pickup coils.
The Paul's Guitar model uses two TCI humbuckers (Tuned Capacitance and Inductance) in combination with two mini switches that allow you to switch each of the pickups from humbucker to true single coil mode.
