De Imperial Humbucker heeft hetzelfde luchtige hoog, gebalanceerde middengebied en het strakke laag als de originele klassieke PAF-pickups. Lollar verbeterde vervolgens het ontwerp om je een meer gebalanceerde frequentierespons te geven. Met een medium output bevindt dit element zich in het vintage bereik met een iets heter brug-element in vergelijking met een typisch vintage exemplaar. De ongebalanceerde spoelen produceren een strak laag die de perfecte aanvulling is op het volle karakter van de pickup en dat er ook voor zorgt dat boventonen zich opstapelen met elke noot die gespeeld wordt. Het brug element klinkt iets voller. Gemaakt met Alnico 5-magneten die zijn gedemagnetiseerd tot specifieke niveaus die uniek zijn voor de brugpositie.

The Imperial Humbucker captures the airy top end, balanced mid-range, tight lows, and complex overtones of the classic original PAF pickups. Lollar then improved on the design to give you a more balanced frequency response. Its medium output is in the vintage range with a hotter wound bridge pickup compared with a typical vintage set. The unbalanced coils produce a tight bottom end that complements the pickup's fullness and causes overtones to build after each note is played. Overall, it has a fuller bridge tone. Made with Alnico 5 magnets that are degaussed to specific levels unique to the bridge position.
