De 509 begint met een 5 single coil platform; met de buitenste vier spoelen gegroepeerd als humbuckers. Een innovatief schakelsysteem (een 5-weg blade-schakelaar en twee mini-toggle coil-tap-schakelaars), geeft spelers een scala aan humbucking, singlecoil en gemengde tonen.
Unieke kenmerken zijn onder meer een langere mensuur van 25.25" die een hogere harmonische schittering toevoegt en de PRS Gen III gepatenteerde Tremolo die een indrukwekkende sustain biedt. Maar wacht... er is meer! Deze 509 heeft ook een 10 top in een custom Copperhead Burst finish! Dit zorgt voor een spectaculair uitziende top en een geweldige algehele uitstraling.

An innovative switching system (a 5-way blade switch and two mini-toggle coil-tap switches), gives players an array of humbucking, singlecoil, and blended tones.
Unique appointments include a longer 25.25" scale length which adds upper harmonic sparkle and the PRS Gen III Patented Tremolo which provides impressive sustain. But wait... there's more. This 509 also has a 10 top in a custom Copperhead Burst finish! This makes for a spectacular looking top and a great overall appearance.
