Ongeacht het feit dat George Harrison en Eric Clapton een '64 SG Standard gebruikten, was dat modeljaar duidelijk een hoogtepunt voor SG's in het algemeen. De onhandige side-pull vibrato was vervangen door de betrouwbare Maestro Vibrola. De halsprofielen waren groter geworden en leken op het profiel van de Les Pauls uit 1959. En de balans, bespeelbaarheid en uitstraling van de SG leken goed tot zijn recht te komen.
Om al deze redenen presenteert de Gibson Custom Shop met trots het nieuwste lid van de Historic Reissue-familie: de SG Standard Reissue uit 1964. Samen met het Maestro Vibrola en het stevige halsprofiel, heeft hij alle hypernauwkeurige vintage specificaties die je maar kunt wensen: originele constructiemethoden, chemisch nagemaakte kunststoffen, replica-elektronica en meer. Het resultaat is misschien wel de best uitziende, aanvoelende en klinkende SG Reissue ooit.
Hij bevat ook Ultra Light Aging door de bekwame ambachtslieden van het Murphy Lab. De Murphy Lab Ultra Light Aged finish behandeling, gecombineerd met licht verouderde hardware, simuleert decennia van natuurlijke speelkleding, waardoor het het unieke karakter, de vibe en het gevoel krijgt van een origineel exemplaar uit de Gibson Golden Era.

Regardless of the fact that George Harrison and Eric Clapton used a '64 SG Standard, that model year was clearly a high point for SGs in general. And the balance, playability and appearance of the SG seemed to come into their own.

Together with the Maestro Vibrola and sturdy neck profile, it has all the hyper-accurate vintage specs you could wish for: original construction methods, chemically recreated plastics, replica electronics and more. The result is perhaps the best looking, feeling and sounding SG Reissue ever.
It also contains Ultra Light Aging by the skilled artisans at the Murphy Lab. The Murphy Lab Ultra Light Aged finish treatment, combined with lightly aged hardware, simulates decades of natural playwear, giving it the unique character, vibe and feel of an original example from the Gibson Golden Era.
This 2022 Gibson SG is in virtually new condition and comes with a certificate of authenticity and TFOA passport in a hardshell case.
