De Martin D12-20 is onderdeel van de 20-serie die zich op enkele punten onderscheidt van de 18-serie. Naast de welbekende mahonie klankkast en het Sitka sparren bovenblad kenmerken de gitaren uit deze serie zich door hun zwarte binding, zwarte brugpinnen, een 28-stijl geblokte backstrip en extra witte lijn op de achterste binding.
Martin D12-20 Mahogany Spruce 12 String 1967
De D12-20 was de eerste 12-snarige gitaar van Martin, en werd vanaf 1964 geproduceerd. Martin koos voor een 12-fret Dreadnought body met slope shoulders, en door deze constructie bevindt de brug zich verder naar het midden van het bovenblad waardoor deze efficiënter in beweging wordt gebracht. Het model werd snel omarmd door artiesten die op zoek waren naar de karakteristieke van een 12-snarige gitaar, maar dan met de kwaliteit en speelbaarheid waar Martin om bekendstond.
De combinatie van het massieve sparren bovenblad met de mahonie klankkast levert een klankpalet op dat simpelweg prachtig is. Je hoeft niet hard te werken om deze gitaar op gang te krijgen. Bij een zachtere aanslag beloont hij je al met zijn heldere, open klank. Als je wel wat meer power wilt produceren, dan levert de dreadnought-body een krachtige projectie en de diepe bastonen waar Martin beroemd om is.
Deze D12-20 uit 1967 vertoont speelsporen op het bovenblad, de klankkast en de hals, maar deze zijn zoals te verwachten bij een gitaar van deze leeftijd. Op de zijkant van de klankkast bij de taille aan de baszijde is een kleine crack gerepareerd, en de gitaar heeft een neck reset en refret gehad. Verder zijn de topkam, het brugzadel en de brugpinnen vervangen, maar de gitaar is over het geheel gezien bijzonder schoon.
De gitaar verkeert in excellente staat, en speelt en klinkt voortreffelijk! Wordt met TFOA paspoort geleverd in een koffer.
The D12-20 was Martin's first 12-string guitar, produced from 1964 onward. Martin opted for a 12-fret dreadnought body with sloped shoulders, and this construction positioned the bridge further toward the center of the top, making it more efficient to play. The model was quickly embraced by artists seeking the characteristics of a 12-string guitar, but with the quality and playability Martin was known for.
The combination of the solid spruce top and mahogany back and sides creates a tonal palette that is simply beautiful. You don't have to work hard to get this guitar going. Even a gentler touch rewards you with its bright, open tone. If you're looking for a bit more power, the dreadnought body delivers powerful projection and the deep bass for which Martin is famous.
This 1967 D12-20 shows playwear on the top, back and sides, and neck, as expected for a guitar of this age. A small crack on the backside of the body near the bass waist has been repaired, and the guitar has had a neck reset and refret. The nut, bridge saddle, and bridge pins have also been replaced, but overall the guitar is exceptionally clean.
The guitar is in excellent condition and plays and sounds superb! It comes with a TFOA passport and comes in a hardshell case.

Wer etwas mehr Druck wünscht, findet im Dreadnought-Korpus eine kraftvolle Projektion und den tiefen Bass, für den Martin berühmt ist.
Diese D12-20 von 1967 weist altersbedingte Gebrauchsspuren an Decke, Boden, Zargen und Hals auf. Ein kleiner Riss auf der Rückseite des Korpus nahe der Taille wurde repariert, und die Gitarre wurde neu eingestellt und die Bünde erneuert. Sattel, Stegeinlage und Stegstecker wurden ebenfalls ersetzt, aber insgesamt ist die Gitarre in einem außergewöhnlich guten Zustand.
Die Gitarre ist in exzellentem Zustand und lässt sich hervorragend spielen und klingen! Sie wird mit einem TFOA-Pass und einem Hartschalenkoffer geliefert.
