Catalinbread Topanga Spring Reverb
De externe Fender 6G15 veergalm is het geluid van de Surf gitaar, Spaghetti Western en vele andere geweldige gitaarklanken uit de jaren zestig. Een deel van de magie ervan, en hoe hij verschilt van de interne veergalmb in de meeste Fender-versterkers, is dat hij *voor* de versterker wordt geplaatst, waardoor het galm-signaal vervormt en intenser klinkt.
Omdat er extra knoppen op de outboard units zaten, had je ook meer controle over de reverb kwaliteiten. De Dwell knop regelde hoe hard de veren werden geraakt door het gitaarsignaal. Met de knop Tone konden de hoge tonen worden teruggedraaid tot precies de juiste helderheid. Het was in wezen ook een buizenvoorversterker, zodat hij het geluid dat de versterker ingaat kleur gaf. Dit alles resulteerde in een zeer karakteristiek galmgeluid met veel attitude en complexe niet-lineariteiten die moeilijk te reproduceren zijn. Maar Catalinbread heeft precies dat gedaan!
Naast de klassieke drie knoppen van het origineel, hebben we ook een grote discrete voorversterker toegevoegd die je kan bedienen via de volumeknop voor een gezonde hoeveelheid clean boost wanneer je dat wil.

Because there were additional knobs on the outboard units, you also have more control over the reverb qualities. The Dwell knob controlled how hard the springs were getting hit by the guitar signal. The Tone knob allowed the treble to be dialed back to just the right degree of brightness. It was also essentially a tube preamp, so it would color the sound going into the amp. All this added up to a very distinctive reverb sound with a lot of attitude and complex non-linearities that are hard to replicate. However, Catalinbread did just that!
Besides giving you the classic three knob control compliment of the original, we’ve also added a great discrete preamp that you can control via the Volume knob for a healthy amount of great clean boost when you want it.
