De Colosseum is het resultaat van een reeks peilingen onder de Cornerstone-volgers en hun supporters in de Cornerstone-gemeenschap. Ze zijn ongelooflijk trots om dit pedaal te presenteren waarin de mensen een grote rol hebben gespeeld in het ontwerpproces.

Het Colosseum is het resultaat van een reeks peilingen onder de Cornerstone-volgers en hun aanhangers in de Cornerstone-gemeenschap. Ze zijn ongelooflijk trots om dit pedaal te presenteren waarin de mensen een grote rol hebben gespeeld in het ontwerpproces.
De Colosseum is een dubbel overdrive-pedaal gebaseerd op Cornerstone's interpretatie van de Blues Breaker- en Klon-circuits. Hoewel ze de originele pedalen gebruikten om een nauwkeurige geluidsreferentie te hebben (zelfs een originele Klon), is het eindresultaat van de Colosseum niet simpelweg dat deze twee circuits gekopieerd zijn en in één pedaal gestopt.
Cornerstone voegt hun "kenmerkende" 'clean control' van de Gladio toe, om het zuivere geluid bovenop het overstuurde signaal toe te voegen voor meer tonale veelzijdigheid. Dit komt vooral de aanslaggevoeligheid ten goede, met name bij het spelen met een plectrum, maar ook het laag van je originele, cleane geluid.
De Klon-kant bleef vrijwel hetzelfde, behalve één belangrijk detail: de clipblender. We weten allemaal dat de Klon een behoorlijke reputatie heeft opgebouwd rond twee "mythische" 1N34A Germanium-diodes. Cornerstone gebruikt ze nog steeds, meet ze allemaal en kiest degenen met de juiste waarde van de doorlaatspanning, maar... met de toevoeging van een paar met de hand geselecteerde siliciumdiodes. Met deze blend-functie heb je een breed scala aan toonflexibiliteit, een geheel nieuwe smaak van Klon aan je voeten, terwijl je nog steeds het geluid van het origineel tot je beschikking hebt.

The Colosseum is a dual overdrive pedal based on Cornerstone's interpretation of the Blues Breaker and Klon circuits. While they used the original pedals to have an accurate sound reference (even an original Klon), the end result of Colosseum is not just these two circuits copied and stuck in the same box.
They added their “signature” Clean control taken from the Gladio, to add the clean sound on top of the overdriven signal for more tonal versatility. This will restore a lot of touch sensitivity, especially on pick attack, as well as restoring the bottom end from your original clean sound.
The Klon side stayed pretty much the same, except for one important detail: the clip blender. We all know that the Klon has built quite a reputation around two “mythical” 1N34A Germanium diodes. Cornerstone is still using them, measuring each one of them and picking the ones with the correct value of forward voltage, but… with the addition of a pair of hand selected silicon diodes. With this blend feature you have a wide range of tonal flexibility, an entirely new flavor of Klon at your feet, all while still being able to harness the sound of the original.
