Grohl speelt al sinds lange tijd op gitaren van Gibson, en zijn vorige signature-modellen zijn altijd enorm populaire instrumenten geweest. Niet voor niets worden deze modellen tegenwoordig voor extreem hoge bedragen verkocht op de tweedehands markt, maar deze Epiphone brengt het model binnen handbereik van iedereen. Epiphone heeft voor deze nieuwe Dave Grohl DG335 Signature samengewerkt met de Gibson Custom Shop, dus met de kwaliteit zit het wel goed.
De gitaar is gebaseerd op de meest iconische gitaar van Grohl, die een combinatie is van een ES335 en een Trini Lopez-model. De gitaar heeft een semi-hollow body en is voorzien van de diamond-klankgaten die de gitaar zo herkenbaar maken. De mahonie hals heeft een elliptisch profiel, en de kenmerkende Trini Lopez headstock is voorzien van Grover Mini Rotomatic stemmechanieken. En voor de finish had Epiphone eigenlijk maar één keuze; de gitaar is natuurlijk afgewerkt in Pelham Blue!
Voor de pickups heeft Epiphone gekozen voor Grohl's favoriete Gibson USA Burstbucker pickups; met een Burstbucker 2 in de halspositie en een Burstbucker 3 in de brugpositie. De gitaar is verder voorzien van een Graph Tech topkam, CTS potmeters en een schakelaar en output van Switchcraft, waaruit blijkt dat Epiphone ook voor de kleinere details alleen het beste heeft gebruikt.
De Epiphone DG335 wordt met TFOA paspoort geleverd in een Epiphone koffer met handtekening van Dave Grohl.

Epiphone has collaborated with the Gibson Custom Shop for this new Dave Grohl DG335 Signature, so the quality is good.
The guitar is based on Grohl's most iconic guitar, which is a combination of an ES335 and a Trini Lopez model. The guitar has a semi-hollow body and is equipped with the diamond sound holes that make the guitar so recognizable. The mahogany neck has an elliptical profile, and the signature Trini Lopez headstock features Grover Mini Rotomatic tuners. And for the finish, Epiphone really only had one choice; the guitar is of course finished in Pelham Blue!
For the pickups, Epiphone has chosen Grohl's favorite Gibson USA Burstbucker pickups; with a Burstbucker 2 in the neck position and a Burstbucker 3 in the bridge position. The guitar is also equipped with a Graph Tech nut, CTS potentiometers and a switch and output from Switchcraft, which shows that Epiphone has only used the best for the smaller details.

Die Gitarre basiert auf Grohls kultigster Gitarre, einer Kombination aus einem ES335- und einem Trini-Lopez-Modell.
