De Black Falcon van Gretsch is een innovatieve versie van het beroemde Falcon-model. Met een iets kleinere body met twee cutaways en een sparren center block dat de resonantie van de body versterkt, maar toch het gewicht laag houdt door de gekamerde constructie.
Twee Filter'Tron humbucking-pickups sieren de gelamineerde esdoorn body en bieden ongerepte high-end, glasachtige midrange, robuuste low-end en gebalanceerde harmonische klanken voor een toon die naadloos samengaat met andere instrumenten.
Een 12"-radius ebbenhouten toets met 22 frets en opvallende parelmoerkleur thumbnail inleg vergezellen de esdoorn hals met een comfortabel en stevig C-vormig profiel voor soepele en gemakkelijke speelbaarheid.
