Met de 70's Les Paul Goldtop maakte Gibson een ommekeer in de specificaties van het iconische model. Deze Les Paul is gemaakt van mahonie en afgewerkt met een esdoorn top. Doordat de body geheel massief is heeft de gitaar een robuust gewicht van 4,1 KG.
