Ear Trumpet Labs Nadine for Upright Bass
De Nadine is een condensator microfoon met een middelgroot tot groot membraam, specifiek ontworpen voor gebruik met een contrabas. De lage tonen zijn zo afgestemd dat ze een vlak frequentierespons heeft op de afstand waarop de microfoon gemonteerd is. De cardoïde richtingskarakteristiek zorgt voor een zeer natuurlijk geluid omdat er zoveel mogelijk oppervlakte van de bas wordt meegepakt. De achterkant van de microfoon vangt zeer weinig signaal op waardoor ze ideaal is in combinatie met bijvoorbeeld monitoren op een podium.
De microfoon bestaat uit twee delen; de body kan stevig worden bevestigd aan het staartstuk met elastisch klittenband, en de kop van de microfoon kan makkelijk tussen de snaren boven het staartsuk worden bevestigd middels een rubberen pakkingring. Â De 14-inch Mogami kabel die de twee onderdelen verbindt zorgt ervoor dat de microfoon makkelijk op elke bas kan worden bevestigd. Dit bevestigingssysteem maakt het makkelijk monteren en verwijderen van de microfoon mogelijk zonder blijvende sporen te veroorzaken. Na jarenlang vragen te hebben ontvangen van mensen die een microfoon wilden specifiek voor de contrabas heeft Ear Trumpet Labs nu eindelijk de perfecte oplossing gevonden met deze Nadine.

Nadine is a medium-large diaphragm condenser mic specifically designed for use on upright basses. The low end is tuned to give a flat response at the mounting distance, and the cardioid pickup pattern provides very natural sound by picking up as much of the surface of the bass as possible, within the constraints of the close placement. There's great rejection off the back of the mic, allowing use with stage monitors.
Physically, the mic is separated into the body, which securely straps to the tailpiece with velcro elastic, and the head, which mounts easily between the strings above the tailpiece using a rubber grommet. The 14-inch Mogami cable that connects the two parts makes it easy to place the mic ideally on any bass. This mounting system makes Nadine both easy to move from instrument to instrument and secure enough to leave on one bass permanently. After years of being asked for a mic specifically designed to meet the needs of the acoustic upright player, we think we've found the best design yet for this demanding application.
