Preston Thompson Guitars staan bekend om de directe, responsieve sound en zijn stuk voor stuk odes aan de legendarische Amerikaanse instrumenten uit de jaren 30. Meesterbouwer Preston Thompson en zijn kleine team van zeer getalenteerde gitaarbouwers maken custom akoestische gitaren die de look, het gevoel en bovenal de sound hebben van de allerbeste instrumenten uit dat gouden tijdperk. Thompson gitaren zijn licht van gewicht, sterk en worden gebouwd volgens de gerenommeerde constructiemethoden.Â
Deze hoogwaardige instrumenten worden ontworpen door meesterbouwer Preston Thompson. Preston heeft een hoogstaande reputatie als het aankomt op het bouwen van "nieuwe" vintage gitaren en werd in de jaren 80 ontdekt door Bluegrass virtuoos Charles Sawtelle en Peter Rowan. Zijn samenwerking met Sawtelle gaf Preston de beschikking over Sawtelle's befaamde verzameling pre-war vintage instrumenten. De gitaar die Preston bouwde voor Sawtelle baseerde hij dan ook op instrumenten uit deze collectie. Vandaag de dag gebruikt Presten deze kennis nog steeds om gitaren te maken die superieur zijn qua klank, er prachtig uitzien dankzij hoogwaardige materialen en ook nog eens perfect zijn afgewerkt.

And Preston uses his detailed measurements of those instruments to this day to create guitars that are coveted for their superlative sound, the beauty of their materials, and the precision of their construction.
