Na het bouwen en eren van de ontwerpen van andere gitaarbouwers, was het tijd om eindelijk een gitaar te bouwen naar hun eigen ideeën. De Jellinghaus Signature is een zeer moderne gitaar waarin veel eigen ontwerpen worden gecombineerd met elementen van andere bekende ontwerpen.
Het bovenblad is een dubbel sparren bovenblad voor een hard geluid met een onmiddellijke respons. Het hals/body-verbinding combineert de constructie van de traditionele Spaanse hiel met een vrij zwevende toets, die al eeuwen wordt gebruikt voor violen. De vrij zwevende toets en de toegevoegde armsteun en de volledige bovenkant kunnen vrij trillen zonder te worden vastgehouden door een standaard toets. De zijkanten zijn dubbel gelaagd en verstevigt met cipressenhout zonder veel gewicht toe te voegen. Het geluid heeft een luide, onmiddellijke, sterke nootscheiding met een lange sustain op de bassen en zingende hoge tonen.
Het hout voor de bovenbladen is met de hand geselecteerd door Wolfgang zelf in Zwitserland, het hout voor de zij- en achterkant wordt in stammen gekocht en volgens Wolfgang's specificaties gezaagd in de eigen zagerij van Jellinghaus. Voor de Signature-modellen wordt alleen het beste hout gebruikt. Zoals alle Jellinghaus-gitaren heeft ook deze een French polish afwerking om het beste in uiterlijk en geluid naar voren te brengen.
After building and honouring the designs of other guitar builders, it was time to finally build a guitar to their own ideas. The Jellinghaus Signature is a very modern guitar with a lot of own designs and with elements from famous designs combined into one.
The top is a double spruce top for a loud sound with an immediate response. The neck/body joint combines the construction of the traditional Spanish heel with a free floating fingerboard, in use for violins since centuries. The free-floating fingerboard and the added armrest with the complete top vibrate freely without being held down by a standard fingerboard. The sides and double layered and are lined with cypress to stiffen the sides without adding a lot of weight. The sound is loud, immediate, strong note separation with a long sustain on the basses and singing trebles.
The wood for tops is hand selected by Wolfgang himself in Switzerland, the wood for sides and back is bought in logs and sawn to Wolfgang’s specifications in Jellinghaus' own sawmill. Only the best wood is used for the Signature models. As all Jellinghaus guitars this too has a French polished finish to bring out the best in looks and sound.
