Het verloop van de cutaway en de gemakkelijk toegankelijke halsverbinding met het met de hand gesneden hielontwerp stelt de speler in staat om zeer comfortabel bij de bovenste frets te komen. De moderne 12 inch toetsradius en medium jumbo frets zorgen voor gemakkelijke en comfortabele speelbaarheid.
Een ander interessant detail is de 4-wegschakeling, die een extra klankoptie voor de speler toevoegt. In de extra positie worden de hals- en brugpickups in serie gecombineerd voor een vettere, bijna humbuckerachtige toon. Het voegt een toffe extra veelzijdigheid toe aan een sowieso al veelzijdige gitaar.
De Fat 50's pick-upset biedt echt open klinkende pickups, erg warm in de hals en alle twang die je maar wilt in de brug.
