Sustainable

Cole Clark guitars stand out thanks to their unique appearance, which is mainly due to exceptional types of wood such as Blackwood, Bunya, Queensland Maple, and River She Oak. Behind this unique wood lies a great idea because Cole Clark has been at the forefront of sustainable guitars for years.

Most guitar builders have long held onto 'standard' types of wood such as Sitka Spruce, Mahogany, and Rosewood. But these types of wood are becoming scarcer and scarcer. This is only partly due to the guitar industry because relatively little wood is needed for a guitar: 120 mature spruces could be enough to provide all guitar builders in North America with enough wood for their soundboards. The furniture industry and other wood processors are much bigger culprits that cause some types of wood to be quickly depleted..  

For Cole Clark, it was a reason to look for his guitar wood smarter and much closer to home.
