Ibanez

Japanese company Ibanez is one of the world's largest builders of electric guitars. For "heavier" music, Ibanez is a great choice. In addition to electric guitars, Ibanez also builds bass guitars, acoustic guitars, and effect pedals, which have been used by many guitar heroes on stage. History of Ibanez

Ibanez belongs to the Hoshino Gakki Group, one of Japan's largest instrument manufacturers, also known for its drum brand Tama. The company takes its name from the Spanish builder Salvador Ibanez, who was known around 1900 for his high-quality acoustic guitars, ukuleles, and mandolins. From the outset, Hoshino focused on Western music and Western instruments, becoming one of the first Japanese manufacturers to import its instruments to the United States and Europe..

In the early 1970s, Ibanez made imitations of the Fender Stratocaster and Gibson Les Paul models. These guitars were much cheaper but were of equal quality to their original counterparts. Due to copyright issues, Ibanez eventually had to stop building these imitations. The company then began working with different guitarists (Joe Satriani, John Petrucci, and Steve Vai) to produce their own designs. For example, with Steve Vai, they introduced the world's first 7-string guitar, which is now widely used in rock and metal by bands like Korn and Limp Bizkit. Nowadays, Ibanez not only focuses on the so-called "Superstrats," but also builds acoustic guitars.

The Ibanez range at TFOA

For the well-known Ibanez Superstrats, The Fellowship of Acoustics is the right place to go. We have a wide range of Ibanez electric guitars. In addition, we offer Hollowbody guitars from the Artcore series. We sell four- and five-string Ibanez bass guitars. You can also come to us for an Ibanez acoustic guitar, with or without a pickup system. Ibanez understands better than anyone that the acoustic guitar is part of a centuries-old tradition of building stringed instruments. Without losing that tradition, the company continues to strive for development and innovation. For example, Ibanez has introduced the AE (Acoustic-Electric) series, the next step for the new generation of guitars, in search of the ideal sound and playability.
