Archtop Guitars

Archtop guitars are very popular in the Jazz, Blues and Rockabilly genres. They owe their name to the fact that they literally have an "Arched top", as opposed to an acoustic flattop. TFOA deals in rare, vintage and new Archtop guitars. Brands like Gibson, Collings, Eastman and D'angelico.

Why choose an Archtop guitar?

If you are looking for a real Jazz guitar, then an Archtop is what you need. They have a characteristic sound, iconic to the genre. Archtop guitars can be played both acoustically and amplified. The typical Archtop has a hollow body, f-holes instead of a sound hole and has a non-glued bridge. They sound loud and have a sharp sound, designed to be played acoustically with an entire big band. Famous jazz guitarists like Wes Montgomery are never seen without an Archtop guitar and their tone largely comes from that very instrument!

TFOA has a wide variety of Archtop guitars, check them out now! If you have questions or are in need of advice, please feel free to contact info@tfoa.eu.
