Due to that nasty virus it was very quiet in our villa. Hundreds of guitars were silently waiting on the wall but no one showed up to play them and it made us feel a bit sad. That is why we are very happy that we can hear music again from all rooms and corners of our 2400 m3 store! We like to share some of that happiness and that is why we have listed in absolutely random order what lots of guitar players share with us when they visit. And thanks to YouTube, we’ve added free guitar lessons so that you can also show these awesome tunes to friends, family and Fellows.

The G Chord

The Almighty G Chord is the Ultimate Guitar Test to end All Guitar Tests! Is it easy to play this chord? Does the guitar sit comfortably in the hand? Does that chord sound good without buzzing? Whether you play with a pick or fingerpick, dig in harder or with a softer touch: the G-Chord shows you the way. Some beginners may think that they first have to be able to impress everyone before being able to try out a few guitars in a guitar shop, but at The Fellowship that is not the case. We have hundreds of electric and acoustic guitars in stock, new, used and vintage and they are spread over several rooms with quiet corners and well isolated boots where you can go about your business as you please. Our Fellows are here to help if you want to know more or if you want to hear how a guitar sounds in someone else's hands. It does not matter to us whether you have been playing for years or are just starting out: you are welcome to visit us, because we would love to hear how any guitar sounds in YOUR hands. We’ve missed it..

Do you want to know how to play a G chord? Then take a look at YouTube guitar guru of the first hour Justin:

Rollercoaster, Danny Vera

Mercy John wrote that beautiful Travispicking piece and Danny Vera came up with the lyrics within a few hours about the ups and downs that life can bring.

Blackbird, The Beatles

Fellow Laura often hears this Beatles Classic that you can play with only two fingers on the neck and yet sounds like there is a whole orchestra in the room. We are only waiting for this song to arive.

Sister Golden Hair, America

Anyone who ever watches our weekly New Arrivals video's videos knows this one! Because Fellow Coen regularly treats us to this one!

Everything by Jimi Hendrix

Fellow Joëlle usually works near the hundreds of electric guitars we have hanging here on our first flore, so she regularly catches Mr. Hendrix flying by on his Little Wings. There are many versions of this great tune, and we like this one with super handy tabs on SoundSlice

Lágrima, Francisco Tarrega

Lágrima means tear and this 130-year-old melody is so beautiful that we often shed a tear when we hear it. Written for classical guitars with nylon strings, but also on a western guitar this sounds beautiful.

Neon, John Mayer

In our guitar store John Mayer Songs are frequent visitors in both the electric and acoustic department. The most popular one might be one of the most difficult songs we know: Neon with that typical, rhythmic 'slap' that sounds easy, but is very tricky. If you can pull this of, you immediately know that you have a good guitar!

If you have an hour to spare, this GuitarHero explains how to play Neon.

Classical Gas, Mason Williams

Guitar Aquisition Syndrom also called G.A.S is something many Fellows suffer from. The symptoms are mild and often easy to combat with a set of new strings, until things take a turn for the worse and the only remedy is a new guitar. Mason Williams wrote a song about this terrible affliction and virtuoso Tommy Emmanuel turned it into a hit.

And…

Back in Black, mr. Sandman, a lot of Neil Young songs, Romanza, Smoke on the Water and yes, also Stairway to Heaven gets played in our store besides lots and lots of other songs, riffs and chords. And because we love guitars so much, we never, ever get tired of any of them! So feel free to drop by and add some songs to this list. De koffie staat klaar! (i.e. Coffee is ready!)
