Of course, it's all about the guitar, but as far as we are concerned, the picture is only really complete when you have also thought about the accessories. If you want to enjoy your acoustic guitar for a long time, certain accessories are extremely important. Discover our recommendations of essential accessories here.
Top 5 Essential Accessories
In our video, Maico tells you which accessories are real “essentials” for any acoustic guitarist. You can also find our recommendations on this page.

#5 A Tuner
Let's start right away with the most commonly used accessory: a tuner, also known as a “tuner”. If you play a lot live, we bet this little device has often saved you from (unintentional) false notes.
A tuner is simply a handy tool for every guitarist to keep your guitar perfectly tuned. So as far as we are concerned, an absolute must-have!
Our recommendation: D'Addario NS Micro Tuner

#4 Capo
Almost every guitarist has this accessory in his or her arsenal: the capo. With a capo, you can very easily change the key. This is called transposing. And in this new key, you can just keep playing the same chords.
There are many different types of capos. For example, for steel-string and nylon-string guitars. The difference can be seen in the radius, the curvature of the part that goes over the strings. The one for a nylon-string guitar is flatter than the one for a steel-stringed western guitar. So make sure the capo fits your guitar.
Our recommendation: Shubb C1 Capo Steel String

#3 Strap
When you take your guitar on stage, a guitar strap, also known as a strap, cannot be missing! But what is the best strap?
This is different for every guitarist. Straps come in many shapes and sizes. So our advice is to try many out and see and feel what suits you best. Important to remember is that your guitar should also have strap buttons to attach the guitar strap. These are also available from us and our luthiers will be happy to attach them for you.

#2 Hygrometer
Those who take good care of their guitar will enjoy it for years! Climate control is a very important part for the health of your acoustic instrument. To control this, we recommend getting a temperature and humidity meter (hygrometer) in your home.
This little device tells you what the humidity in the room is. For a guitar, a percentage between 45% to 55% is ideal. So thanks to a hygrometer, you can take action in time and prevent your guitar from warping, for example.
Our recommendation: D'Addario Temperature and Hygrometer

#1 Humidifier
But then how do you keep your acoustic guitar healthy if the room is too humid or too dry? For that, you can use a humidifier. A “maintainer” can add or remove moisture from the air to maintain a constant humidity. A “dehumidifier” absorbs moisture from the air so it doesn't soak into the wood of your guitar.
With a humidifier, you can prevent cracks in your guitar. We don't call humidity the “silent killer of your guitar” for nothing. That's why we can't stress enough how important this accessory is. For more information on this, you can also watch the video we made about humidity here .
Our recommendation: D'Addario Humidipak Maintain Two Way Humidification
