Gibson Custom Shop Collectors Choice CC07 Shanks Les Paul Aged 2013

Het uitgangspunt van Gibsons Collectors Choice-serie is om de meest gewaardeerde exemplaren uit de rijke geschiedenis van het merk optimaal te reproduceren. Zo ook deze Les Paul #7 'Shanks' uit 2013; een gitaar gebaseerd op een Les Paul Standard van producer, songwriter en gitarist John Shanks. Deze Les Paul is nummer 102 van de 300 geproduceerde exemplaren.


De gitaar die als inspiratie diende voor deze reproductie is een Les Paul uit 1960, die, als onderdeel van de zogenaamde overgangsperiode, het massieve halsprofiel van een model uit 1959 heeft. Les Paul by Shanks bootst dit nauwkeurig na. De burst behoudt veel van het rood van de originele sunburst, en de Custom Shop heeft dit prachtig gereproduceerd op deze gitaar.


Verdere details zijn de 'vervangen' stemmechanieken; de originele Les Paul by Shanks was uitgerust met Kluson-stemmechanieken, maar werd vervangen door Grovers. De humbuckers zijn bovendien volgens de exacte specificaties van de originele PAF's gewonden, waardoor de Les Paul Shanks qua klank ook een kopie zijn.

De gitaar verkeert in excellente conditie en wordt met TFOA paspoort en Gibson Custom Shop certificaat geleverd in een koffer.

The premise of Gibson's Collector's Choice series is to optimally reproduce the most prized pieces from the brand's rich history. This 2013 Les Paul #7 "Shanks" is one such example; a guitar based on a Les Paul Standard owned by producer, songwriter, and guitarist John Shanks. This Les Paul is number 102 of 300 produced.


The guitar that inspired this reproduction is a 1960 Les Paul, which, as part of the so-called transition period, features the solid neck profile of a 1959 model. Les Paul by Shanks accurately replicates this. The burst retains much of the red of the original sunburst, and the Custom Shop has beautifully reproduced it on this guitar.


Further details include the "replaced" tuners; the original Les Paul by Shanks was equipped with Kluson tuners, but they were replaced with Grovers. The humbuckers are also wound to the exact specifications of the original PAFs, making the Les Paul Shanks a true copy in terms of sound.


The guitar is in excellent condition and comes in a hardshell case with a TFOA passport and Gibson Custom Shop certificate.

Die Gitarre, die als Inspiration für diese Reproduktion diente, ist eine Les Paul von 1960, die im Rahmen der sogenannten Übergangsphase das massive Halsprofil eines Modells von 1959 aufweist. Die Les Paul von Shanks bildet dies originalgetreu nach. Der Burst behält viel vom Rot des ursprünglichen Sunbursts bei, und der Custom Shop hat ihn auf dieser Gitarre wunderschön reproduziert.


Zu den weiteren Details gehören die ausgetauschten Mechaniken; die ursprüngliche Les Paul von Shanks war mit Kluson-Mechaniken ausgestattet, die jedoch durch Grovers ersetzt wurden. Die Humbucker sind zudem exakt nach den Spezifikationen der originalen PAFs gewickelt, was die Les Paul Shanks klanglich zu einer originalgetreuen Kopie macht.


Die Gitarre ist in ausgezeichnetem Zustand und wird in einem Hartschalenkoffer mit TFOA-Pass und Gibson Custom Shop-Zertifikat geliefert.
