De jaren '70 zagen de terugkeer van het 'single cut' Les Paul Standard model, maar wel met een geheel eigen karakter. Naast hun forse gewicht, staan deze 'Norlin-era' gitaren bekend om de 'pancake' body met een dun laagje esdoorn tussen het mahonie, en een 3-delige esdoorn top en mahonie hals. Dit exemplaar uit 1976 laat al deze kenmerken in volle glorie zien!
We zijn op slag verliefd op de doorleefde finish die zowel charme als rock-n-roll uitstraalt. De speelsporen, dings en lakchips bewijzen dat hij goed is gebruikt, en de gitaar heeft ook wat vervangen onderdelen om in goed bespeelbare conditie te blijven. Zo zijn de stemmechanieken, de brug en het staartstuk vervangen, en de gitaar heeft ook een refret gehad. Ook ontbreekt de slagplaat. De twee Patent No. Pickups en CTS-potmeters uit 1976 zijn origineel, en zorgen ervoor dat deze Les Paul als een beest klinkt!
Deze vintage Les Paul Standard verkeert in zeer goede conditie, is bijzonder resonant en heeft, niet in de laatste plaats dankzij zijn forse gewicht van bijna 5 kilogram, een bijzonder goede sustain. Voor een Les Paul heeft hij een relatief slanke C-vormige hals en samen met de glanzend gepolijste frets beweeg je moeiteloos over de palissander toets. The '70s saw the return of the single-cut Les Paul Standard model, but with a character all its own. Besides their hefty weight, these Norlin-era guitars are known for their pancake bodies with a thin layer of maple sandwiched between the mahogany, and a three-piece maple top and mahogany neck. This 1976 example showcases all these characteristics in all their glory!
We're instantly smitten with the weathered finish that exudes both charm and rock 'n' roll. The playwear, dings, and lacquer chips prove it's been well-used, and the guitar has also had some parts replaced to remain in good playing condition. The tuners, bridge, and tailpiece have all been replaced, and the guitar has been refretted. The pickguard is also missing. The two Patent No. 1976 pickups and CTS potentiometers are original, and they make this Les Paul sound like a beast!
This vintage Les Paul Standard is in excellent condition, exceptionally resonant, and boasts exceptional sustain, thanks in no small part to its hefty weight of almost 5 kilograms. In den 70er Jahren feierte die Les Paul Standard mit Single-Cut ihr Comeback – diesmal mit ganz eigenem Charakter. Neben ihrem stattlichen Gewicht sind diese Gitarren aus der Norlin-Ära für ihren flachen Korpus bekannt, bei dem eine dünne Ahornschicht zwischen Mahagoni liegt, sowie für die dreiteilige Ahorndecke und den Mahagonihals. Dieses Exemplar von 1976 präsentiert all diese Merkmale in ihrer ganzen Pracht!
Wir sind sofort begeistert von dem gealterten Finish, das Charme und Rock 'n' Roll gleichermaßen versprüht. Die Spielspuren, Dellen und Lackabplatzer zeugen von häufiger Nutzung, und einige Teile wurden ausgetauscht, um die Gitarre in gutem Spielzustand zu erhalten. Mechaniken, Steg und Saitenhalter wurden erneuert, und die Gitarre wurde neu bundiert. Das Schlagbrett fehlt. Die beiden Tonabnehmer Patent Nr. 1976 und die CTS-Potentiometer sind original und verleihen dieser Les Paul einen fantastischen Sound!
Diese Vintage Les Paul Standard ist in exzellentem Zustand, hat einen außergewöhnlich resonanten Klang und ein außergewöhnliches Sustain, was nicht zuletzt ihrem Gewicht von fast 5 Kilogramm zu verdanken ist. Für eine Les Paul besitzt sie einen relativ schlanken C-förmigen Hals, und die hochglanzpolierten Bünde ermöglichen ein müheloses Spiel auf dem Palisandergriffbrett.
