Dana Bourgeois bouwt al decennialang gitaren. Hij staat wereldwijd bekend als een van de vooraanstaande autoriteiten op het gebied van het op klank brengen, selecteren en gebruiken van de allerbeste klankhoutsoorten. Een van de allerbeste en bijzondere klankhoutsoorten is Panamees palissander, wat in al haar glorie te zien is op de achterkant en zijkant van deze OM. 'Panama Rosewood' is zowel licht en stijf met als resultaat een klank met de karakteristieke warmte en complexiteit die ook te vinden is in Braziliaans palissander.
De sparren top die verkozen is voor deze bijzondere klankkast komt uit het Adirondack gebergte en is 'torrified', en voorzien van een specifieke finish die bijdraagt aan de vintage klank die uit het instrument druppelt. Het laatste stukje van de 'tone-puzzel' is de Hondurees mahoniehouten hals, en net zoals de body verlijmd met Animal protein glue.
Zowel we gewend zijn is de fit en finish van een Bourgeois natuurlijk buitengewoon goed en straalt de klasse uit die je van Bourgeois zou verwachten. Dit is ook te zien aan de ingetogen en luxueuze kenmerken zoals de short diamond inlay, DB herringbone trim en de Madagscar Rosewood kopplaat voorzien van het MOP Bourgeois logo.
Deze Panama Red OM is gebouwd in 2023, en ziet er nog bijna als nieuw uit! Alleen aan de glanzend geworden matte lak op de achterzijde van de hals is te zien dat de gitaar niet meer nieuw is, maar hij verder uitzonderlijk schoon. De gitaar wordt met TFOA paspoort geleverd in een koffer.
Dana Bourgeois has been building guitars for decades. He is known worldwide as one of the leading authorities on toning, selecting, and using the very best tonewoods. One of the very best and most special tonewoods is Panamanian rosewood, which is on full display on the back and sides of this OM. Panama Rosewood is both light and stiff, resulting in a tone with the characteristic warmth and complexity also found in Brazilian rosewood.
The spruce top chosen for this remarkable back and sides comes from the Adirondack Mountains and is torrified, finished with a specific finish that contributes to the vintage tone that emanates from the instrument. The final piece of the tone puzzle is the Honduran mahogany neck, which, like the body, is glued with Animal Protein glue.
As we have come to expect, the fit and finish of a Bourgeois is, of course, exceptionally good and exudes the class you would expect from Bourgeois. This is also reflected in the understated and luxurious features such as the short diamond inlay, DB herringbone trim, and the Madagascar Rosewood headstock overlay bearing the MOP Bourgeois logo.
This Panama Red OM was built in 2023 and still looks almost brand new! Only the glossy matte finish on the back of the neck reveals that the guitar is no longer new, but it is otherwise exceptionally clean. The guitar comes with a TFOA passport and comes in a hardshell case.

Eines der besten und außergewöhnlichsten Tonhölzer ist panamaisches Palisanderholz, das auf Boden und Zargen dieser OM-Gitarre voll zur Geltung kommt. Panamaisches Palisanderholz ist leicht und gleichzeitig steif, was zu einem Klang mit der charakteristischen Wärme und Komplexität führt, die man auch von brasilianischem Palisander kennt.
Die für Boden und Zargen dieser bemerkenswerten Gitarre gewählte Fichtendecke stammt aus den Adirondack Mountains und ist thermisch behandelt. Ihr spezielles Finish trägt zum Vintage-Klang des Instruments bei. Das letzte Puzzleteil für den perfekten Klang ist der Hals aus honduranischem Mahagoni, der wie der Korpus mit tierischem Leim verleimt ist.
Wie von Bourgeois gewohnt, ist die Verarbeitung natürlich außergewöhnlich gut und strahlt die Klasse aus, die man von dieser Marke erwartet. Dies spiegelt sich auch in den dezenten und luxuriösen Details wider, wie dem kurzen Diamant-Inlay, der DB-Fischgrätverzierung und dem Kopfplattenfurnier aus Madagaskar-Palisander mit dem Perlmutt-Logo von Bourgeois.
Diese Panama Red OM wurde 2023 gebaut und sieht noch fast wie neu aus! Lediglich die glänzende, matte Lackierung auf der Halsrückseite verrät, dass die Gitarre nicht mehr ganz neu ist, ansonsten ist sie aber in einem außergewöhnlich guten Zustand. Die Gitarre wird mit einem TFOA-Pass und einem Hartschalenkoffer geliefert.
