Mangohout deelt veel van de klankeigenschappen van esdoorn, maar geeft de gitaar een bijna ‘quilted’ uiterlijk. De satijnen nitroafwerking versterkt de natuurlijke uitstraling van het instrument en zorgt voor een prettige feel en een resonante toon. De ebbenhouten toets en kopplaat zijn voorzien van de klassieke PRS “Old School” vogelinleg met omlijning, en op de kop prijkt de “Pre-Factory” adelaar, een eerbetoon aan de vroege PRS-modellen.

Ondanks het vernieuwde uiterlijk behoudt deze limited edition de geliefde specificaties van de Custom 24: een mahoniehouten body en hals, 25-inch mensuur, 24 frets, een toetsradius van 10 inch en het Pattern Thin-halsprofiel. Ook aanwezig zijn de PRS Gen III gepatenteerde tremolo en de Phase III locking stemmechanieken met wing-buttons. De gitaar is uitgerust met DMO Treble en Bass pickups, ontwikkeld door Paul Reed Smith en het PRS New Products Engineering-team. Deze elementen – DMO staat voor Dynamic, Musical, Open – bieden een open en expressieve klank met een zangachtig karakter. In combinatie met de 5-standen schakelaar levert dit een breed palet aan bruikbare klanken binnen het bekende Custom 24-formaat.

Deze gelimiteerde oplage maakt deel uit van de jubileumviering rond het 40-jarig bestaan van PRS. De gitaar wordt met TFOA paspoort geleverd in een koffer.

The most striking detail is the choice of a beautifully figured mango top instead of the traditional maple. Mango shares many of the tonal qualities of maple but gives the guitar an almost quilted appearance. The satin nitrocellulose lacquer finish enhances the instrument's natural look and provides a pleasant feel and a resonant tone. The ebony fingerboard and headstock overlay feature the classic PRS "Old School" bird inlay with outline, and the headstock features the "Pre-Factory" eagle, a tribute to early PRS models.

Despite its updated appearance, this limited edition retains the beloved specifications of the Custom 24: a mahogany body and neck, a 25-inch scale length, 24 frets, a 10-inch fingerboard radius, and the Pattern Thin neck profile. Also included are the PRS Gen III patented tremolo and Phase III locking tuners with wing buttons. The guitar is equipped with DMO Treble and Bass pickups, developed by Paul Reed Smith and the PRS New Products Engineering team. These pickups—DMO stands for Dynamic, Musical, Open—offer an open and expressive tone with a vocal character. Combined with the 5-way switch, this provides a wide palette of usable sounds within the familiar Custom 24 size.

This limited edition is part of PRS's 40th anniversary celebrations. The guitar comes with a TFOA passport and a hardshell case.
