Preston Thompson bouwde zijn reputatie op met handgemaakte gitaren die nauw gebaseerd zijn op de maten en klankkwaliteiten van de iconische staalsnaarinstrumenten uit de jaren dertig. Vanuit het kleine atelier in Sisters, Oregon, worden de gitaren van begin tot eind met de hand vervaardigd, met oog voor de speelervaring en klank van de beste instrumenten uit dat gouden tijdperk. Preston Thompson overleed in 2019, maar het toegewijde team dat hij achterliet zet zijn werk voort met dezelfde zorg en dezelfde standaarden.
De OM is bij Thompson klassiek geschikt voor zowel fingerstyle als plectrumspel, en staat bekend om zijn responsiviteit, articulatie en helderheid! De combinatie van een massief Adirondack sparren bovenblad en een mahonie klankkast levert een gitaar op die warm en direct klinkt, met genoeg helderheid en definitie om elke noot goed uit de verf te laten komen. Het scalloped X-bracing draagt bij aan de lichte bouw van de gitaar, wat directe respons en een rijke klankkleur oplevert.

Preston Thompson built his reputation on handmade guitars closely based on the dimensions and tonal qualities of the iconic steel-string instruments of the 1930s. From the small workshop in Sisters, Oregon, each guitar is crafted entirely by hand, with great attention to the playing experience and the sound of the finest instruments from that golden era. Preston Thompson passed away in 2019, but the dedicated team he left behind continues his work with the same care and standards.

The combination of a solid Adirondack spruce top and a mahogany body results in a warm, direct tone with plenty of clarity and definition to let every note shine.
