The Guild M80 CS is the double-cut version of the renowned M75 Bluesbird, uniquely combining the robust body of a Les Paul with the neck reach of an SG. This 1977 Cherry model is a classic rock machine featuring the beloved Guild HB-1 pickups and signature Westerly craftsmanship.

Guild introduceerde de M80 CS halverwege de jaren '70 als alternatief voor gitaristen die de warme tonen van de M75 waardeerden, maar meer toegang tot de hogere frets wensten. Door het weglaten van de bovenste schouder verschoof de strapbutton naar de achterkant van de hals, vergelijkbaar met een Gibson SG. De originele Guild HB-1 humbuckers leveren die typische low-wind tonen: helder en chimey wanneer je clean speelt, maar met genoeg grrom wanneer je de versterker opentrapt. De faseschakelaar op de brug-pickup biedt extra klankopties die deze gitaar bijzonder veelzijdig maken.
De mahonie body met esdoorn top zorgt voor een volle, warme klank met voldoende bite, terwijl het gewicht en de dikte de gitaar steviger in de hand laten liggen dan zijn dunner gebouwde concurrenten. De ebben toets met parelmoeren blok-inleg en de roomkleurige binding geven de gitaar een verfijnde uitstraling die past bij zijn professionele karakter.
Deze M80 uit 1977 verkeert in excellente staat en is door de jaren heen duidelijk met zorg behandeld. Op de body en hals zijn speelsporen te vinden, maar de gitaar is gezien zijn gevorderde leeftijd zeer schoon. Een bijzondere gitaar die een mooie aanvulling is voor elke gitaarcollectie!

Guild introduced the M80 CS in the mid-1970s as an alternative for guitarists who appreciated the warm tones of the M75 but desired greater access to the higher frets. By eliminating the upper shoulder, the strap button moved to the back of the neck, similar to a Gibson SG. The original Guild HB-1 humbuckers deliver those signature low-wind tones: bright and chimey when playing clean, yet with plenty of growl when cranking up the amp. The phase switch on the bridge pickup offers additional tonal options, making this guitar exceptionally versatile.
The mahogany body with a maple top delivers a full, warm tone with plenty of bite, while its weight and thickness make the guitar feel more secure in the hand than its thinner counterparts. The ebony fingerboard with pearloid block inlays and cream binding give the guitar a refined look that befits its professional character.
This 1977 M80 is in excellent condition and has clearly been treated with care over the years. Playwear is evident on the body and neck, but the guitar is very clean considering its advanced age. A special guitar that would make a wonderful addition to any guitar collection!

Durch den Wegfall der oberen Halsschulter wurde der Gurtknopf, ähnlich wie bei einer Gibson SG, auf die Rückseite des Halses verlegt. Die originalen Guild HB-1 Humbucker liefern den charakteristischen Low-Wind-Sound: hell und glockig im Clean-Modus, aber auch mit ordentlich Biss, wenn der Verstärker aufgedreht wird. Der Phasenschalter am Steg-Pickup bietet zusätzliche Klangoptionen und macht diese Gitarre außergewöhnlich vielseitig.
Der Mahagonikorpus mit Ahorndecke liefert einen vollen, warmen Ton mit viel Biss. Gewicht und Dicke sorgen dafür, dass die Gitarre sicherer in der Hand liegt als dünnere Modelle. Das Ebenholzgriffbrett mit Perlmutt-Blockeinlagen und cremefarbenem Binding verleiht ihr ein edles Aussehen, das ihrem professionellen Charakter gerecht wird.
Diese M80 von 1977 ist in exzellentem Zustand und wurde über die Jahre offensichtlich sorgsam behandelt. Gebrauchsspuren sind an Korpus und Hals erkennbar, aber die Gitarre ist für ihr Alter sehr gut erhalten. Ein besonderes Instrument, das jede Gitarrensammlung wunderbar bereichern würde!
Die Gitarre wird im originalen Hartschalenkoffer mit TFOA-Pass geliefert.
