Preston Thompson Dreadnought modellen zoals deze zijn gebouwd om precies zo te klinken als de originele dreadnought gitaren van weleer. Deze krachtige instrumenten kunnen, indien nodig, eenvoudig het volume aan van een mandoline, viool en banjo. Verder voorzien deze gitaren vocalen van een haast volledige orchestrale backingtrack dankzij de respons in het laag. De respons in het middengebied biedt daarnaast ruimte voor al je indrukwekkende flatpicking riffjes.

Deze specifieke stijl 18 dreadnought maakt gebruik van een Adirondack sparren bovenblad en is voorzien van een Sunburst finish. Verder heeft het instrument met de hand gevormde scalloped Adirondack braces, sinker mahonie klankkast met tortoise bindingen. De comfortabele D-vormige mahonie hals draagt een ebben toets met 1930s stijl dot inleg en een ebben kopplaat met logo en Waverly stemmechanieken.
