Preston Thompson bouwde zijn reputatie op met handgemaakte gitaren die nauw gebaseerd zijn op de maten en klankkwaliteiten van de iconische staalsnaarinstrumenten uit de jaren dertig. Vanuit het kleine atelier in Sisters, Oregon, worden de gitaren van begin tot eind met de hand vervaardigd, met oog voor de speelervaring en klank van de beste instrumenten uit dat gouden tijdperk. Preston Thompson overleed in 2019, maar het toegewijde team dat hij achterliet zet zijn werk voort met dezelfde zorg en dezelfde standaarden.
De OM is bij Thompson klassiek geschikt voor zowel fingerstyle als plectrumspel, en staat bekend om zijn responsiviteit, articulatie en helderheid! De combinatie van een massief Adirondack sparren bovenblad en een Cubaans mahonie klankkast levert een gitaar op die warm en direct klinkt, met genoeg helderheid en definitie om elke noot goed uit de verf te laten komen. Het scalloped X-bracing draagt bij aan de lichte bouw van de gitaar, wat directe respons en een rijke klankkleur oplevert.
De Regency Torch is het populairste headstock-inlegmotief dat Thompson aanbiedt. Ontwikkeld door inlegkunstenaar Simon Haycraft, maakt deze inlay deze prachtige OM helemaal af! Deze OM CMA is gebouwd in 2025, en heeft twee dings op het bovenblad. De gitaar is verder zeer schoon en wordt geleverd in een TKL koffer met TFOA-paspoort.
Preston Thompson built his reputation on handcrafted guitars closely modeled on the dimensions and tonal qualities of the iconic steel-string instruments of the 1930s. From his small workshop in Sisters, Oregon, the guitars are handcrafted from start to finish, meticulously crafting the playing experience and tone of the finest instruments from that golden era. Preston Thompson passed away in 2019, but the dedicated team he left behind continues his work with the same care and standards.
The Thompson OM is classically suited to both fingerstyle and pick playing and is known for its responsiveness, articulation, and clarity! The combination of a solid Adirondack spruce top and Cuban mahogany back and sides produces a guitar that sounds warm and direct, with enough clarity and definition to let every note shine. The scalloped X-bracing contributes to the guitar's lightweight build, resulting in a direct response and rich tonal color.
The Regency Torch is Thompson's most popular headstock inlay. Developed by inlay artist Simon Haycraft, this inlay perfectly completes this beautiful OM! This OM CMA was built in 2025 and features two dings on the top. The guitar is otherwise very clean and comes in a TKL hardshell case with a TFOA passport.
Preston Thompson erlangte Bekanntheit durch handgefertigte Gitarren, deren Abmessungen und Klangcharakteristik den legendären Stahlsaiteninstrumenten der 1930er-Jahre nachempfunden waren. Die Thompson OM eignet sich klassisch sowohl für Fingerstyle als auch für Plektrumspiel und ist bekannt für ihre Ansprache, Artikulation und Klarheit! Die Kombination aus massiver Adirondack-Fichtendecke und Boden und Zargen aus kubanischem Mahagoni erzeugt einen warmen und direkten Klang mit genügend Klarheit und Definition, um jede Note zum Strahlen zu bringen. Die geschwungene X-Verstrebung trägt zum geringen Gewicht der Gitarre bei und sorgt so für eine direkte Ansprache und einen reichen Klang.
Das Regency Torch ist Thompsons beliebteste Kopfplatteneinlage. Diese vom Inlay-Künstler Simon Haycraft entworfene Inlay-Verzierung rundet diese wunderschöne OM perfekt ab! Diese OM CMA wurde 2025 gebaut und weist zwei kleine Dellen auf der Decke auf. Ansonsten ist die Gitarre in einem sehr guten Zustand und wird in einem TKL-Hartschalenkoffer mit TFOA-Pass geliefert.
