Due to the shift to mass production, Fenders built during the CBS era often consisted of parts from multiple years, as can be seen with this Stratocaster, completed in 1970. The alder body with a three-tone sunburst is one of the most classic Fender color combinations, beloved by many guitarists!

De hals is voorzien van het groene stempel 22 22 018 B, waaruit we kunnen opmaken dat het een Stratocaster-hals (22) met normale topkambreedte (B) is. Verder beschikt de hals over specificaties die hem naar 1968 of een vroeg exemplaar van 1969 kunnen dateren. Zo zien we onder het zwarte Fender-logo twee patentnummers, waar exemplaren uit 1970 er nog maar één hadden. Ook heeft de hals nog geen skunk stripe op de achterzijde, deze werd in de loop van 1969 geïntroduceerd. De hals heeft verder de grote headstock die vanaf het eind van 1966 standaard werd, en ook de bevestiging met vier schroeven die in 1971 plaatsmaakten voor het systeem met drie schroeven en micro-tilt.
Op het gebied van elektronica is deze Stratocaster nog grotendeels origineel. De brug- en middenpickup zijn Grey Bottom single coils, en voor de halspickup is gebruikgemaakt van een Black Bottom single coil. De pickups zijn voorzien van stempels; de brugpickup heeft #260, de middenpickup heeft #270 en de halspickup heeft #280, al is dit stempel op de body aangebracht omdat hij anders niet leesbaar zou zijn door de zwarte onderkant van de pickup. We kunnen uit deze stempels opmaken dat de pickups zeer waarschijnlijk de 26e, 27e en 28e pickup van 1970 zijn. De drie CTS-potmeters zijn van 1970, en de gitaar is voorzien van een vervangende vijfweg-schakelaar om de zo geliefde tussenstanden mogelijk te maken.
Daarnaast heeft de gitaar een refret gehad, en hierbij zijn ook de beide zijden van de toets netjes afgevlakt voor een comfortabele speelervaring. Ook de topkam is vervangen, maar de gitaar is verder geheel origineel. De speelsporen in de lak verraden dat de gitaar flink bespeeld is; op de body zijn meerdere dings te vinden, en de lak is achterop de hals grotendeels weggespeeld. Al bij het eerste akkoord voel je de enorme resonantie van deze gitaar, een gevoel dat ervoor zorgt dat je deze Stratocaster wilt blijven bespelen!
De gitaar wordt met TFOA paspoort geleverd in een koffer.
The neck is stamped green 22 22 018 B, indicating that it is a Stratocaster neck (22) with a normal nut width (B). Furthermore, the neck has specifications that could date it to 1968 or an early 1969 example. For example, two patent numbers are visible beneath the black Fender logo, while 1970 examples only had one. The neck also lacks the skunk stripe on the back, which was introduced sometime in 1969. The neck also features the large headstock that became standard from late 1966 onward, as well as the four-screw mounting system, which was replaced in 1971 by the three-screw system with a micro-tilt.
In terms of electronics, this Stratocaster is still largely original. The bridge and middle pickups are Grey Bottom single-coils, and the neck pickup uses a Black Bottom single-coil. The pickups are stamped; the bridge pickup has a #260, the middle pickup has a #270, and the neck pickup has a #280, although this stamp is placed on the body because it would otherwise be illegible due to the black underside of the pickup. These stamps indicate that the pickups are most likely the 26th, 27th, and 28th pickups from 1970. The three CTS potentiometers are from 1970, and the guitar features a replacement five-way switch to enable the much-loved intermediate positions.
The guitar has also been refretted, and both sides of the fretboard have been neatly flattened for a comfortable playing experience. The nut has also been replaced, but the guitar is otherwise completely original. The playwear in the finish reveals that the guitar has been played extensively; several dings can be found on the body, and the finish on the back of the neck has been largely worn away. From the very first chord, you'll feel the guitar's enormous resonance, a feeling that makes you want to keep playing this Stratocaster!
The guitar comes with a TFOA passport and comes in a hardshell case.

Die Pickups sind gestempelt: Der Steg-Pickup trägt die Nummer 260, der Mittel-Pickup die Nummer 270 und der Hals-Pickup die Nummer 280. Dieser Stempel befindet sich jedoch auf dem Korpus, da er aufgrund der schwarzen Unterseite der Pickups sonst unleserlich wäre. Diese Stempel deuten darauf hin, dass es sich bei den Tonabnehmern höchstwahrscheinlich um die Nummern 26, 27 und 28 aus dem Jahr 1970 handelt. Die drei CTS-Potentiometer stammen ebenfalls aus dem Jahr 1970, und die Gitarre verfügt über einen neuen Fünfwegeschalter, der die beliebten Zwischenpositionen ermöglicht.
Die Gitarre wurde neu bundiert, und beide Seiten des Griffbretts wurden für ein angenehmes Spielgefühl sauber abgerichtet. Der Sattel wurde ebenfalls ersetzt, ansonsten ist die Gitarre jedoch komplett original. Die Gebrauchsspuren am Lack zeigen, dass die Gitarre ausgiebig gespielt wurde; der Korpus weist einige Dellen auf, und der Lack auf der Rückseite des Halses ist größtenteils abgenutzt. Schon beim ersten Akkord spürt man die enorme Resonanz der Gitarre – ein Gefühl, das Lust auf mehr macht!
Die Gitarre wird mit einem TFOA-Pass und in einem Hartschalenkoffer geliefert.
