Deze stammen werden gedurende de 20e eeuw gebruikt voor drijvende constructies die de visvangst en houtkapindustrie ondersteunden. Het hout bevond zich decennialang in ijzerhoudend zout water, en bij het verwerken bleek het door oxidatie een grijs- tot blauwachtige kleur aangenomen te hebben. Het hout is door dit proces gerijpt, lichter van gewicht en ook stijver qua structuur. De gitaar beschikt hierdoor over een unieke en uitgesproken klank.
De cocobolo achter- en zijkant zijn van zichzelf al verbluffend mooi en vormen een mooi contrast met het bovenblad. Door de aanwezigheid van details als de ivoroid binding en herringbone purfling is de gitaar ook op visueel gebied zeer de moeite waard.
Tachtig jaar nadat het 'Orchestra Model' voor het eerst werd ontworpen is het een van de meest populaire 14-fret modellen geworden voor fingerstyle spelers die op stalen snaren willen spelen. Maar voor flatpickers is het ook een aantrekkelijk instrument. Hoewel hij na een aantal jaren qua volume werd onttroond door de machtige dreadnought, behoudt deze gitaar een bepaalde charme en unieke veelzijdigheid.
Deze Collings OM2H uit 2022 heeft lichte speelsporen op de achterzijde van de klankkast met daarnaast ook enkele oppervlakkige dings op het bovenblad. De gitaar verkeert in excellente conditie en wordt geleverd in een koffer van TKL.
Het is niet voor niets dat deze gitaren niet lang in onze winkel blijven; als je er eenmaal een Collings hebt bespeeld wil je niets anders meer!
These logs were used throughout the 20th century for floating structures that supported the fishing and logging industries. The wood was in ferrous salt water for decades, and during processing it turned out to have taken on a grayish to bluish color due to oxidation. The wood has matured through this process, is lighter in weight and also stiffer in structure. This gives the guitar a unique and distinctive sound.
The cocobolo back and sides are already stunningly beautiful in themselves and form a nice contrast with the top. The presence of details such as the ivoroid binding and herringbone purfling also makes the guitar very worthwhile in terms of visuals.
Eighty years after it was first designed, the 'Orchestra Model' has become one of the most popular 14-fret models for fingerstyle players who want to play on steel strings. But for flatpickers it is also an attractive instrument. Although it was dethroned in terms of volume after a number of years by the mighty dreadnought, this guitar retains a certain charm and unique versatility. This 2022 Collings OM2H has light playwear on the back of the sound box and also some superficial dings on the top. The guitar is in excellent condition and comes in a TKL hardshell case.
It is not without reason that these guitars do not stay in our store for long; once you have played a Collings, you do not want anything else!
Diese Baumstämme wurden im gesamten 20. Jahrhundert für schwimmende Strukturen verwendet, die der Fischerei- und Holzindustrie zugutekamen. Das Holz lag jahrzehntelang in eisenhaltigem Salzwasser und hatte bei der Verarbeitung durch Oxidation eine graue bis bläuliche Farbe angenommen. Durch diesen Prozess wird das Holz gereift, hat ein geringeres Gewicht und eine steifere Struktur. Dies verleiht der Gitarre einen einzigartigen und unverwechselbaren Klang.
Die Rückseite und die Seiten aus Cocobolo sind an sich schon atemberaubend schön und bilden einen schönen Kontrast zur Oberseite. Auch optisch machen Details wie das Elfenbein-Binding und die Fischgräten-Einlage die Gitarre zu einem echten Hingucker.
Achtzig Jahre nach der ersten Entwicklung des „Orchestra Model“ ist es zu einem der beliebtesten 14-Bund-Modelle für Fingerstyle-Spieler geworden, die auf Stahlsaiten spielen möchten. Aber auch für Flatpicker ist es ein attraktives Instrument. Obwohl sie nach einigen Jahren in Sachen Lautstärke von der mächtigen Dreadnought entthront wurde, behält diese Gitarre einen gewissen Charme und eine einzigartige Vielseitigkeit.
Dieses Collings OM2H von 2022 weist leichte Spielspuren auf der Rückseite des Resonanzkörpers sowie einige oberflächliche Dellen auf der Oberseite auf. Die Gitarre ist in ausgezeichnetem Zustand und wird in einem TKL-Koffer geliefert.
Nicht ohne Grund bleiben diese Gitarren nicht lange in unserem Lager; Wenn Sie einmal Collings gespielt haben, wollen Sie nichts anderes mehr!
