The Collings DS is the ultimate combination of tradition and modern craftsmanship. This is the original 12-fret dreadnought shape as designed almost a century ago. Collings has retained the classic body shape, wide neck, and slotted headstock from that early era, but the DS models are modern guitars in every respect, with a unique tonal character.

De langere body, met de brug dichter bij het midden van de lower bout, levert een open en luchtige toon met een soepelheid en warmte die je zelden vindt bij moderne 14-fret dreadnoughts. Voor zowel flatpicking als fingerstyle biedt deze gitaar enorm veel headroom en een breed dynamisch bereik dat uitnodigt tot zowel subtiele begeleiding als felle leadpartijen.
De herringbone purfling en abalone diamonds & squares toetsinleg verwijzen naar de prewar-periode, en samen met de donkere ebben kopfineer en ivoroid/tortoise rozet vormt dat een stijlvol geheel voor deze 12-fret krachtpatser. En naast de overvloedige headroom is deze DS vooral erg luid! De klank vult moeiteloos een ruimte zonder scherp of agressief te klinken. Hoewel hij ook subtiel fingerpickingwerk aankan, heeft hij een geweldige punch en directheid die hem perfect maakt voor bluegrass flatpicking.
Deze Collings is gebouwd in 2024, en verkeert in Near Mint conditie. Op zijn slagplaat bevinden zich zeer lichte speelsporen en ook op de achterzijde van de klankkast zijn wat zeer minimale speelsporen te vinden, verder is er een strapbutton geïnstalleerd. De gitaar is over het geheel gezien bijzonder schoon, en is een instrument dat je niet zomaar aan de kant legt als je eenmaal bent begonnen met spelen!
De gitaar wordt met TFOA paspoort geleverd in een TKL koffer.
The longer body, with the bridge positioned closer to the center of the lower bout, delivers an open and airy tone with a smoothness and warmth rarely found in modern 14-fret dreadnoughts. For both flatpicking and fingerstyle, this guitar offers tremendous headroom and a wide dynamic range that invites both subtle accompaniment and powerful lead playing.
The herringbone purfling and abalone diamonds & squares fingerboard inlays refer to the prewar era, and together with the dark ebony headplate veneer and ivoroid/tortoise rosette they create a stylish look for this 12-fret powerhouse. Besides its abundant headroom, this DS is especially loud! Its sound easily fills a room without becoming sharp or aggressive. Although it handles subtle fingerpicking beautifully, it also has a fantastic punch and immediacy that make it perfect for bluegrass flatpicking.
This Collings was built in 2024 and is in near mint condition. There are very light signs of play on the pickguard and a few minimal marks on the back of the body, and a strap button has been installed. Overall, the guitar is exceptionally clean and is the kind of instrument you won’t want to put down once you start playing!
The guitar comes with a TFOA passport in a TKL case.

Sowohl für Flatpicking als auch für Fingerstyle bietet diese Gitarre enorm viel Headroom und einen großen Dynamikumfang, der sowohl zu subtiler Begleitung als auch zu kraftvollen Lead-Passagen einlädt.
Die Herringbone-Purfling und die Abalone Diamonds & Squares Griffbretteinlagen verweisen auf die Prewar-Ära, und zusammen mit dem dunklen Ebenholz-Kopfplattenfurnier und der Ivoroid/Tortoise-Rosette ergibt sich ein stilvolles Gesamtbild für dieses 12-Fret-Kraftpaket. Neben dem großen Headroom ist diese DS vor allem sehr laut! Ihr Klang füllt mühelos einen Raum, ohne scharf oder aggressiv zu wirken. Obwohl sie auch feines Fingerpicking hervorragend meistert, besitzt sie einen großartigen Punch und eine Direktheit, die sie perfekt für Bluegrass-Flatpicking macht.
Diese Collings wurde 2024 gebaut und befindet sich in Near-Mint-Zustand. Auf dem Schlagbrett sind sehr leichte Spielspuren zu sehen, und auch auf der Rückseite des Korpus finden sich einige minimale Gebrauchsspuren; außerdem wurde ein Strap-Button installiert. Insgesamt ist die Gitarre außergewöhnlich sauber und ein Instrument, das man kaum wieder aus der Hand legt, sobald man einmal angefangen hat zu spielen!
Die Gitarre wird mit TFOA-Pass in einem TKL-Koffer geliefert.
