Deze Triumph uit 1947 stamt uit een periode waarin Epiphone volledig hersteld was van de Tweede Wereldoorlog en terugkeerde naar waar het het beste in was: het bouwen van archtops van wereldklasse. De tweedelige esdoornhouten achterkant en zijkanten zijn typerend voor Epiphone's aanpak in deze periode: een klankhout dat helderheid en directheid aan de toon geeft zonder aan warmte in te boeten. Het Sitka-sparrenhouten bovenblad en de vijfdelige hals van kersen-, mahonie- en esdoornhout tonen Epiphone's vakmanschap met materialen; deze combinatie produceert een vollere toon dan je zou verwachten van een esdoornhouten gitaar. De V-vormige hals met parelmoeren diamantvormige inlays, het Frequensator-staartstuk en de verstelbare palissanderhouten brug geven dit instrument zijn klassieke elegantie. De Epiphone stemmechanieken met marmeren knoppen zorgen voor een betrouwbare stemming.
Deze Triumph heeft twee gerepareerde scheuren in de bovenkant en wat lakreparaties aan de achterkant van de hals, normale slijtage voor een 79 jaar oude gitaar die duidelijk veel bespeeld is. Het Dutch Archtop Museum verwierf het instrument in juli 2010 via Tony Mier Antiques in DeLand, Florida. Dit is een Triumph met een rijke geschiedenis en een uniek speelkarakter.

This 1947 Triumph hails from a period when Epiphone had fully recovered from World War II and returned to what it did best: building world-class archtops. The instrument embodies the characteristics that made the Triumph famous: a large, full body, handcrafted details, and a playability that is simultaneously robust and elegant.
The 2-piece maple back and sides are typical of Epiphone's approach during this period: a tonewood that brings clarity and directness to the tone without sacrificing warmth. The Sitka spruce top and 5-piece cherry/mahogany/maple neck showcase Epiphone's craftsmanship with materials; this combination produces a tone that is fuller than you would expect from a maple guitar. The V-shaped neck with Mother of Pearl notched diamond inlays, the Frequensator tailpiece, and the adjustable rosewood bridge give this instrument its classic elegance. The Epiphone enclosed tuners with marbeloid buttons ensure reliable tuning.
This Triumph has two repaired cracks on the top and some lacquer repairs on the back of the neck, normal wear for a 79-year-old guitar that has clearly been played extensively. The instrument is otherwise in very good condition. According to a repair receipt from Chellee Guitars in Orange City, Florida, the guitar previously belonged to Russell Roeth of New Smyrna Beach. The Dutch Archtop Museum acquired the instrument in July 2010 through Tony Mier Antiques in DeLand, Florida. This is a Triumph with real history and playing character.
