The ES775, one of Gibson's rarest full-depth archtops, was a more luxurious version of the popular ES175 model and was briefly produced between 1990 and 1993. Gibson described the ES775 in their 1990 catalog: "For an exquisite blend of craftsmanship, looks, and that classic Gibson jazz sound, look no further than the ES775."

Met luxe details zoals een ebben toets, ebben knoppen en inleg op het staartstuk, goudkleurige hardware, een meervoudig binding op de body, hals én headstock kop was de ES775 een pronkstuk, maar vertoonde hij ook enkele significante structurele veranderingen ten opzichte van zijn werkpaard. De halspickup werd naar het uiteinde van de toets verplaatst voor een mildere klank en de cutaway werd aanzienlijk verdiept voor een betere toegang tot de hogere frets.
Deze ES775 is er eentje uit het eerste productiejaar van het model, en de bouw van het instrument werd voltooid op 27 juli 1990. De gitaar heeft speelsporen op de slagplaat, het bovenblad en de klankkast, en de binding van de hals vertoont haarscheurtjes. De lak op de voorzijde van de headstock is gecraqueleerd rondom de inleg, de stemmechanieken en bij de binding, en ook rondom de hiel en halsverbinding met het bovenblad is craquelé in de lak te vinden. Tenslotte zien we ook gebruikssporen op de goudkleurige hardware, en kunnen we vermelden dat de topkam is opgehoogd.
De Gibson ziet er over het geheel gezien echter zeer schoon uit voor een 35 jaar oud instrument, en is een gitaar die je niet vaak voorbij ziet komen. Een buitenkansje voor de liefhebber van mooie jazzgitaren! Wordt met TFOA paspoort geleverd in de originele Gibson-koffer.
With luxurious details like an ebony fingerboard, ebony knobs and tailpiece inlays, gold-tone hardware, and multi-layer binding on the body, neck, and headstock, the ES775 was a showpiece, but it also featured some significant structural changes from its workhorse counterpart. The neck pickup was moved to the end of the fingerboard for a mellower tone, and the cutaway was significantly deeper for better access to the higher frets.
This ES775 is from the model's first production year, and construction was completed on July 27, 1990. The guitar has playwear on the pickguard, top, and back and sides, and the neck binding shows hairline cracks. The finish on the front of the headstock is cracked around the inlays, tuners, and binding, and there's also cracking around the heel and neck joint. Finally, there are signs of wear on the gold-colored hardware, and the nut has been raised.
Overall, the Gibson looks very clean for a 35-year-old instrument and is a guitar you don't see often. A real treat for lovers of beautiful jazz guitars! Comes with a TFOA passport in its original Gibson case.

Der Halstonabnehmer wurde für einen weicheren Klang an das Ende des Griffbretts verlegt, und der Cutaway war deutlich tiefer, um einen besseren Zugang zu den höheren Bünden zu ermöglichen.
Diese ES775 stammt aus dem ersten Produktionsjahr des Modells und wurde am 27. Juli 1990 fertiggestellt. Die Gitarre weist Spielspuren am Schlagbrett, der Decke sowie an Boden und Zargen auf, und das Halsbinding zeigt feine Haarrisse. Der Lack auf der Vorderseite der Kopfplatte ist um die Inlays, Mechaniken und das Binding herum rissig, ebenso wie am Halsfuß und am Halsansatz. Die goldfarbenen Hardwareteile weisen Gebrauchsspuren auf, und der Sattel wurde erhöht.
Insgesamt befindet sich die Gibson für ihr 35 Jahre altes Instrument in einem sehr guten Zustand und ist ein seltenes Sammlerstück. Ein echter Schatz für Liebhaber schöner Jazzgitarren! Sie wird mit einem TFOA-Pass im originalen Gibson-Koffer geliefert.
