The starting point of Gibson's Collector's Choice series is to optimally recreate the most prized examples from the brand's rich history. This is also the case with this Les Paul #30 1959 'Gabby'; a guitar based on a Les Paul with a unique story. Only 300 of these guitars were built, of which this guitar is #291.

De Les Paul die als inspiratie diende voor deze Collector's Choice is een model uit 1959 dat van zijn eerste dag slechts één eigenaar kende, en door deze eigenaar bijzonder goed onderhouden is. De Gibson Custom Shop was verbaasd over de bijna ongeschonden Cherry Sunburst die nog in zijn volle kleurenpracht aanwezig was, en doopte de finish voor deze reproductie om tot Appraisal Burst. Deze finish laat de gevlamde esdoorn top er op zijn mooist uitzien, en laat ook zien waar Gibson toe in staat was in de jaren '50!
De Les Pauls uit 1959 behoren tot hoogst aangeschreven elektrische gitaren uit de geschiedenis, en zijn volgens velen zelfs het summum op dit gebied. Uitgerust met een mahonie body en hals gecombineerd met een esdoorn top legde deze gitaar de basis voor het succesmodel van Gibson, dat door de jaren trouw is gebleven aan dezelfde specificaties. Door een gewicht van net vier kilogram is deze gitaar zelfs relatief licht te noemen.
De humbuckers zijn speciaal voor deze gitaar gemaakt en voldoen aan de specificaties van de originele PAF pickups om hem periodecorrect te maken. Ook onderdelen als de frets, inlays en nauwkeurig verouderde hardware zijn volledig trouw aan het origineel en maken deze gitaar tot een zeer gewild instrument.
De gitaar is gebouwd in 2014, en verkeert in excellente conditie. De bedieningsknoppen hebben alle gelijmde scheuren, maar in de koffer worden vier ongeschonden exemplaren meegeleverd, net als een extra jackplate. Wordt met echtheidscertificaat geleverd in de originele Gibson-koffer.
The Les Paul that inspired this Collector's Choice is a 1959 model that had only one owner from day one, and which this owner has maintained exceptionally well. The Gibson Custom Shop was amazed by the nearly pristine Cherry Sunburst, still in its full splendor, and renamed the finish for this reproduction Appraisal Burst. This finish brings out the flamed maple top at its finest and also demonstrates what Gibson was capable of in the 1950s!
The 1959 Les Pauls are among the most highly regarded electric guitars in history, and are considered by many to be the pinnacle of their kind. Featuring a mahogany body and neck combined with a maple top, this guitar laid the foundation for Gibson's successful model, which has remained true to the same specifications over the years. Weighing just four kilograms, this guitar is even relatively light.
The humbuckers were custom-made for this guitar and match the specifications of the original PAF pickups, making it period-correct. Components such as the frets, inlays, and meticulously distressed hardware are also completely true to the original, making this guitar a highly sought-after instrument.
The guitar was built in 2014 and is in excellent condition. The control knobs all have glued cracks, but four undamaged knobs are included in the case, along with an extra jack plate. It comes with a certificate of authenticity in the original Gibson hardshell case.

Die Les Pauls von 1959 zählen zu den angesehensten E-Gitarren der Geschichte und gelten für viele als Inbegriff des Instrumentenbaus. Mit ihrem Mahagonikorpus und -hals sowie der Ahorndecke legte diese Gitarre den Grundstein für Gibsons erfolgreiches Modell, dessen Spezifikationen über die Jahre hinweg unverändert geblieben sind. Mit nur vier Kilogramm ist sie zudem relativ leicht.
Die Humbucker wurden speziell für diese Gitarre angefertigt und entsprechen den Spezifikationen der originalen PAF-Pickups, wodurch sie dem Original aus der damaligen Zeit entspricht. Auch Komponenten wie Bünde, Inlays und die sorgfältig gealterte Hardware sind originalgetreu, was diese Gitarre zu einem begehrten Instrument macht.
Die Gitarre wurde 2014 gebaut und ist in exzellentem Zustand. Die Reglerknöpfe weisen geklebte Risse auf, jedoch sind vier unbeschädigte Knöpfe sowie eine zusätzliche Klinkenbuchse im Koffer enthalten. Ein Echtheitszertifikat ist ebenfalls vorhanden. Die Gitarre wird im originalen Gibson-Hartschalenkoffer geliefert.
