Tachtig jaar nadat het 'Orchestra Model' voor het eerst werd ontworpen is het een van de meest populaire 14-fret modellen geworden voor fingerstyle spelers die op stalen snaren willen spelen. Maar voor flatpickers is het uiteraard ook een aantrekkelijk instrument!
Hoewel hij na een aantal jaren qua volume werd onttroond door de machtige dreadnought, behoudt deze gitaar een bepaalde charme en unieke veelzijdigheid. De Collings OM2H heeft die exacte charme en veelzijdigheid. De compacte vorm maakt hem ontzettend makkelijk te bespelen, zowel op het podium als op de bank, en de relatieve ondiepe klankkast zorgt voor een gebalanceerd geluid met een directe respons.
De body bestaat uit Indisch palissander achter- en zijkanten met een Sitka sparren bovenblad. Met deze beproefde combinatie van houtsoorten levert de OM2H een heldere en gebalanceerde klank. Door de aanwezigheid van details als de ivoroid binding en herringbone purfling is de gitaar ook op visueel gebied zeer de moeite waard.
Deze Collings OM2H uit 2013 heeft lichte speelsporen op het bovenblad, met daarbij ook enkele dings. Op de achterzijde van de klankkast is een kleine verkleuring in de lak te vinden, vermoedelijk een afdruk van een standaard. Op de rand van de achterzijde van de headstock zijn tenslotte ook kleine dings te vinden. De gitaar is verder zeer schoon en klinkt heerlijk open en ingespeeld met een sustain waar je u tegen zegt! Wordt met TFOA paspoort geleverd in een koffer van TKL.
But for flatpickers it is of course also an attractive instrument! Although it was dethroned in terms of volume after a few years by the mighty dreadnought, this guitar retains a certain charm and unique versatility. The Collings OM2H has that exact charm and versatility. The compact shape makes it incredibly easy to play, both on stage and on the couch, and the relatively shallow sound box ensures a balanced sound with a direct response.
The body consists of Indian rosewood back and sides with a Sitka spruce top. With this proven combination of woods, the OM2H delivers a clear and balanced sound. Due to the presence of details such as the ivoroid binding and herringbone purfling, the guitar is also very worthwhile in terms of visual appearance.
This Collings OM2H from 2013 has light playwear on the top, including some dings. On the back of the sound box there is a small discoloration in the lacquer, probably an imprint of a stand. Finally, on the edge of the back of the headstock there are also small dings. The guitar is otherwise very clean and sounds wonderfully open and played in with a sustain that is second to none! Comes with TFOA passport in a TKL hardshell case.
Aber natürlich ist es auch für Flatpicker ein attraktives Instrument! Obwohl sie nach einigen Jahren in Sachen Lautstärke von der mächtigen Dreadnought entthront wurde, behält diese Gitarre einen gewissen Charme und eine einzigartige Vielseitigkeit. Das Collings OM2H verfügt über genau diesen Charme und diese Vielseitigkeit. Durch seine kompakte Größe lässt es sich sowohl auf der Bühne als auch auf der Couch unglaublich leicht spielen und der relativ flache Resonanzkörper sorgt für einen ausgewogenen Klang mit direkter Ansprache.
Der Korpus besteht aus indischem Palisander, Boden und Zargen mit einer Decke aus Sitka-Fichte. Mit dieser bewährten Holzkombination liefert das OM2H einen klaren und ausgewogenen Klang. Auch optisch machen Details wie das Elfenbein-Binding und die Fischgräten-Einlage die Gitarre zu einem echten Hingucker.
Diese Collings OM2H aus dem Jahr 2013 weist leichte Spielspuren auf der Decke auf, darunter einige Dellen. Auf der Rückseite des Resonanzkörpers befindet sich eine kleine Verfärbung im Lack, vermutlich ein Abdruck eines Ständers. Schließlich befinden sich am Rand der Rückseite der Kopfplatte ebenfalls kleine Dellen. Die Gitarre ist ansonsten sehr sauber und klingt wunderbar offen und eingespielt mit einem Sustain, das seinesgleichen sucht! Wird mit TFOA-Pass in einem TKL-Hartschalenkoffer geliefert.
