Eind jaren '80 bouwde Fender in Japan gitaren die de onsterfelijke klassiekers op fraaie wijze benaderden, vaak met interessante variaties op het bekende thema. Deze Telecaster uit 1988 of 1989 is daar een mooi voorbeeld van. Het model beschikt over de tijdloze T-style body met essen hout en een fraaie birdseye maple top, afgewerkt in een opvallende Red Burst finish die de gitaar direct onderscheidt van de meer traditionele blonde of sunburst exemplaren.
De gitaar is uitgerust met twee single coil pickups die de heldere, bijtende Telecaster-toon leveren waar het model al sinds 1950 om bekend staat. De 3-saddle ashtray brug en het vintage-geïnspireerde C-profiel van de esdoorn hals geven de gitaar een authentiek gevoel, terwijl de Gotoh closed-back stemmechanieken zorgen voor moderne betrouwbaarheid.
