Een twaalfsnarige Gretsch Country Gentleman zie je niet elke dag voorbijkomen, maar dit exemplaar uit 2005 maakt het extra bijzonder. De karakteristieke FilterTron pickups geven de volle, sprankelende twaalfsnarige klank een onmiskenbaar Gretsch-DNA. Het resultaat is een mix van helderheid, warmte en bite waarin rockabilly, pop en jangle moeiteloos samenkomen.
De Country Gentleman draagt niet voor niets de naam van Chet Atkins, die dit model in 1957 samen met Gretsch ontwikkelde. De twaalfsnarige uitvoering is altijd mondjesmaat gebouwd en daardoor moeilijk te vinden. De gelamineerde esdoorn klankkast met gewelfd bovenblad zorgt voor die open, luchtige hollowbody sound, terwijl de twee humbuckers voldoende body en definitie toevoegen om zich duidelijk in een bandmix te laten horen. De ebben toets met thumbnail inlays en het comfortabele C-profiel van de esdoorn hals maken het bespelen van alle twaalf snaren verrassend soepel. Dankzij de uitgebreide elektronica, inclusief de kenmerkende mute-switch, heb je veel controle over je klank.
Dit exemplaar uit 2005 verkeert in excellente conditie. Op de body en slagplaat vinden we zeer kleine krasjes, met daarbij ook enkele kleine dings op de achterzijde van de body. De gitaar is over het geheel gezien echter zeer schoon, en wordt geleverd in een koffer en is voorzien van een TFOA-paspoort.
You don't see a twelve-string Gretsch Country Gentleman every day, but this 2005 example makes it extra special. The result is a blend of clarity, warmth, and bite that effortlessly blends rockabilly, pop, and jangle.
It's no coincidence that the Country Gentleman bears the name of Chet Atkins, who developed this model with Gretsch in 1957. The twelve-string version was always built in small numbers and is therefore difficult to find. The laminated maple back and sides with an arched top create that open, airy hollow-body sound, while the two humbuckers add enough body and definition to be heard clearly in a band mix. The ebony fingerboard with thumbnail inlays and the comfortable C-profile of the maple neck make playing all twelve strings surprisingly smooth. Thanks to the extensive electronics, including the signature mute switch, you have extensive control over your tone.
This 2005 example is in excellent condition. There are very minor scratches on the body and pickguard, as well as a few small dings on the back of the body. Overall, however, the guitar is very clean and comes in a hardshell case with a TFOA passport.

Das Ebenholzgriffbrett mit Thumbnail-Inlays und das komfortable C-Profil des Ahornhalses machen das Spielen aller zwölf Saiten überraschend angenehm. Dank der umfangreichen Elektronik, inklusive des charakteristischen Mute-Schalters, haben Sie volle Kontrolle über Ihren Sound.
Dieses Exemplar aus dem Jahr 2005 ist in exzellentem Zustand. Es weist nur minimale Kratzer am Korpus und Schlagbrett sowie einige kleine Dellen auf der Rückseite auf. Insgesamt ist die Gitarre jedoch sehr gepflegt und wird in einem Hartschalenkoffer mit TFOA-Pass geliefert.
